  1. I just do not understand how hard it is to secure your kit in the light of day weather traveling from shop to job or job to job or job to shop. Folks it does not matter to the thief who is determined and apparently more determined than the owner of said kit to steal it. Secure your Kit!. or have someone stand guard over it when not in use or when something else comes up. Cable and lock it together in between jobs and never take any time in between jobs for granted. The thief's main goal is to take advantage of situations any time any where and place, and they are always on the look out as well. Don't give them the chance or the time of day. easy-lift guy

Thanks Drew, we have had snow Twice since 1971 here in SW Florida and yes it was unusuall but it can occure. Yes it did melt once on the ground, but I did make a 18" snow man at a Ford dealership for the occasion. Stay warm. elg.

    snow

Should it not snow this time of year in your part of the world? or is it just because it's the first snow fall since 1936? elg
  4. Dear Doctor: IMO glysopate will not leach from the root system of the tree stump you have been asked to treat by your customer. I have treated tree stumps with the active chemical in the past with good results. Since the material smothers the root system or whats left of the tree to final soil temp. I would use and not have any concerns. When I have used said product in the past I make my cut as low to the soil level and carefully pour the material to the edge of the trunk 360 degrees. I believe the material is carried thru the Cambium layer of the tree. Never have figured out why one bores holes in the trunk?. Hope this helps. elg
  5. I would suggest the Sunshine State Florida. I am based in SW Florida and the summer is winding down and the heat is just starting to taper off a bit. It is not NYC and although I have visited NYC on about 6 different occasion's, would still give Florida a try, Prices are very good and will not be increasing until October when season begins. Many different things to do and learn about but not to the point of being overwhelmed. Next place I would suggest would be the Smokey Mountains National Park Lots of trees and nature hiking and generally a lot of fun. Prices for both locals are about the same. Hope this helps, if you make it to Florida look me up for dinner out. Just PM your schedule. All the best. elg
  6. IMO gloves do not cause wrist problems, however repetitive motion injuries such as Carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow and rotator cuff injuries are more than likely the reason your wrist hurts. These injuries are mainly due to improperly holding or using certain types of equipment for very long periods of time. Everything is connected to one degree or another. I was showing a gent my lifting harness yesterday and he was telling me he works with a extended power hedger for searing Christmas trees. This man said right away that the trigger handle on the power hedger would have to be turned 90 degrees in the opposite direction?. Sadly I could see why since over the many years of use he had developed a bit of a Chicken arm from shearing the trees. I explained that he would not have to work against the hedger any more in conjunction with the harness and he was willing to try. Just to see the pain he was in from so many years of the improper use troubled me But I believe he will be better in the future. Working smarter not harder is and always will be the key to any successful operation. All the best. elg
  7. The story from the Telegraph is both sad and true. Could have been written here in the states and often is referred to white/blue collar crime. Back in the 70"s it was the " me generation " or "Pepsi Generation, I want it now" Many got it than and never learned what to do with it afterwards except squander it away and cry like babies even more when they did not get their way. Same to with government when they to did not get their way weather it be for an increase in taxes for additional services or programs cry and blame. We the people voted most of this scum into office perhaps with good intent on our parts but by the same token wanting certain things to take place for a better society overall. The people are and must assume the role of adults and can and should be held accountable for their kids and the elected officials placed in office by their vote. If you are doing something wrong than you must be punished, and it must be consistent. Anything less equals more of the same, different generation with less responsibility and accountability. elg
  8. That's how it starts first a trash can next your car, than what ever order of events in between. Watch your back, stay safe! elg
  9. Sounds like the 19 year old has parents that love him and care for his safety and well being. I hope he learns from all of this and becomes a better person in the future for your country. The present generation going on at the moment are lost causes and should at the very least be put away for a very long time. elg
  10. News finally picking up a great deal over here about the punks running amuck. Hope the cops and troops get thing back in order soon. Restircting the fueling of cans is just plain stupid. Cut their lines of communication and gather all involved. Send them to special "Holiday Camps". Make all of the males give up their clothing and give them Pink jump suits to wear for about 60 days, if they refuse strip them buck naked and watch what a little loss of freedom is really like. For the Female mal contents dress them all in Red jump suits and if they complain let them also go buck naked. Let them do with out everything they never earned or deserved for 60 days and see what becomes of them. Bet 70% or more would be crying fom mom or dad in 48 hours or less. If the parents don't like that arrangement send them to the same adult camp if it's good enough for their kids it's good enough for the parents! Stay safe and watch your back. elg
  11. Over here it the States it was Championship Wresling from Florida. Dusty Rhodes. elg
  12. I am sure that the look on the cabbies face was priceless, sure leaves a grin on this cat owners face. Thanks. easy-lift guy
  13. Virtually no news coverage here in the states. I agree with Andy. Shut down their means of communication and start rounding up the leaders during the day. Send them off to special holiday camps where they can work out what ever is in their collective systems. If they choose to be non compliant leave them until they gain wisdom and understanding, or until they assume room temp. elg
  14. Graham, you do not sound like you are an alcholic to me, I have know many and they could drink you under the table and still manage to come up for more. Moderation seems to be the key with Alcohol consumption. I may have a better idea about this than most since I do not drink alcohol. elg
  15. I was just looking forward to my breakfast janey, after that picture looks like Brunch instead! UGH! elg
  16. Big D, I can only reference my opinion with many of my class mates growing up in the 70's here in the states. Many of them now are at room temp or less and it is only because they started out with Pot or Alcohol. From there they expanded their menu needs and many are no longer around or their brains are so fried they walk around town aimlessly as the town druggie or alcoholic. It is your right not to submit to a drug test and it is also the right of any employer not to hirer you in the first place. Not really sure how things are done with regards to RDT in Portugal, don't really care to be honest. I only hope for the sake of the many post for this thread that if you use remember there are consequences for ones actions and non actions. Choose wisely the results can last many lifetimes not least to mention your own. elg
  17. Ginga, You are a Professional and you must expect your employees to dress accordingly. If you do not have a dress code in place as part of your employee manual or hand book for employment get one ASAP, as the immortal Barney Fife would say " you got to Nip it Nip it in the Budd". Any distractions created by your employees attire or dress is not only a reflection upon your company but the same reflection upon you. All the best. elg
  18. Keep up the good work, very proud of you sticking it out. Not many can and even fewer do. If your every over on this side of the pond let me know we can have some trigger time at the range!. All the best. elg
  19. WOW what a find!, much congrats, I hope you find the mother load some day. What history, how old do you recon they are? elg
  20. Weed, Pot, Mary Jane or what ever other name you wish to give is a gate way drug, which usually but not always leads to other types of drugs to be tried and used. Many employers post signs in their offices stating "if you use don't apply.". RDT for State employees here in Florida is presently being fought by the ACLU and other types of organizations, saying it infringes upon the employee's civil rights?. Nothing civil about showing up to work stoned or under the influence, just out right dangerous and stupid. elg
  21. Although I do not have any RDT in place with my company, I would not hirer anyone that would do harm to them self's or my company at all. With the addiction of drugs so bad here in the states it does not pay and never will for the employer or society as a whole to employ persons ready and willing to do anything they can to destroy their lives and take as many down with them as they can. They do they can and they will. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY CALL IT DOPE! elg.
  22. toprotter since you started this thread I believe, how are you making out these days?. All the best. elg
  23. Contact ebay and file a complaint against the seller, the more complaints filed the sooner they will stop selling crap, also I would let your local media sources know about your suspicions they may wish to research the matter for a story. elg
  24. Smelly, Yes!! and remember since they are cold blooded they like year round warmth. Wanting pets like this and the maintenance of said pets may be two very different things. Good Luck. elg
  25. No not at all just at one time very lean and would like to try to be there again. elg
