  1. That's exactly how I rolled Rob. No more if those hassles now though. I used it off the bridge ring today whilst in a small cypress. No problems at all. Now Ropetek need to design one that holds a 37metre rope! 😄 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  2. So I got home from a holiday and my Sidewinder had arrived from Ropetek. I used it today in some horrible Cypress and a small Beech tree. I knew it would be a real pain in the Cypress, getting snagged on everything but it wasn't. In fact it was brilliant because I didn't have a tail getting snagged in every little fork or looped round every twig. The unit itself won't stick out too much once I've fixed it on properly and the zip ties are reusable and very very thick. I've fitted mine on the back because I have a Caritool on each hip but some people fit the Sidewinder on their hip. In the photo you'll notice I haven't yet trimmed the ends off the zip ties. It took about four seconds to get the hang of using it and it's just a dream not having to mess about with a rope tail. It certainly appears to be made out of very tough plastic and the Trango Cinch and ISC snap that come as standard are perfect accompaniments. It's loaded with 15ft of 10mm Beeline which should suit all climbers because if you don't like a long lanyard, the surplus stays inside but it's all there when you need it. IMO this is money very very well spent. It won't make a you a better climber but it will definitely make your day easier. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. I got home from this: and found this: It's a Sidewinder from Ropetek. Used it today in tight Conifers and a Beech and love it. 👍😝 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. It says don't use them any more. http://www.petzl.com/files/fckfiles/image/news/pro/2013/zigzag/ALERT-ZIGZAG-EN.pdf?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=petzl-page&utm_campaign=zigzag%20alert&utm_content=en
  5. What'd the clever stuff Ian? Sounds interesting. Also sounds like you need to get out more often. 😘 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. Maybe 85ft, 90 sounds better. Don't care really. Got it down without even squashing grass. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. Quercus, once you've untwisted your rope at the swivel just pass the tail over your head in the correct direction. Hey-presto, done. 👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. Here's what I did the other day and more of the same today. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. That is a proper Chelsea tractor but with proper tyres it would be different. Of course, the back is missing so they'll charge £15k more! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  10. Curse you Dean! Just when I was trying to forget about these things cos I can't really afford one but really want one but wouldn't use one often enough but really need one!! Curses! 😂😘 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  11. But I think it would grind a stump. Access around Mrs Miggins Daffodils could be tricky though. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  12. That's what I was about to say. If you put an extension on you will need to add a blower to stop blockages. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  13. Shane, have you looked at Arbrep Services pedestrian grinder? It's the same as all the others but with all the design improvements we'd all all want. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. Old school justice. YES! 👍👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. You're mental climbing on Prussiks. I'm not saying you have to convert to SRT or spend much money but if you just bought a Hitch climber pulley, one biner and learn to tie a VT or Distel, life would become a lot easier. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. Although it would be too hard on the rope, if the attachment point was designed for a textile attachment it would be ok. Of course tying and untying is boring. I think that the most sensible advice is to just keep it all in line and keep slack out of the system, just like they teach in college. I climb SRWP with a Hitch Hiker but if I don't pay attention and keep the device neat, the biner will rotate a bit and could put enormous loads on side plates of the HH. Although many of the climbing gadgets and systems are very different, one factor remain constant: the necessity to be diligent and alert at all times. I inspect all my gear before I climb and constantly whilst climbing. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!

  20. I had trouble sleeping last night. It was the noise of the waves breaking and the tree frogs that disturbed me. Being upgraded to Club on the flight here made it tolerable though. 😄😜 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  21. Flipping heck! Impressive stuff! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  22. That's exactly the same as me! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  23. Why do you keep doing this on every thread you read? It's all supposed to be constructive information sharing chatter. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. Removal of a 90ft Coast Redwood with phone lines and drains under. Site clearance for yet another footballers wives style pad! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  25. Actually I run my 395 on 34" bar 404 pitch and it runs well. Better than the 660 I had on same bar. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
