  1. No, the end of the cord is frayed. Only joking. Looks right to me but if that's how you tied it prior to climbing it would have been too loose while climbing. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  2. And just as important, what's it like on Apple, Plane, Blackthorn etc. nasty twisted stuff we deal with most days. All the promo videos show a few Spruce and Lombardy branches. Not typical or useful. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. Well, I've had my Protos for a few months so I thought an update would be good, especially as the weather is about to change from cold to hot, maybe. It's a bit boring actually as nothing has changed. The helmet is still very comfy and I've found nothing about the design that is irritating. The little clip/flap thing on the back has been flipped up by a branch three times in total so that is not a concern. I've worn it in pouring rain and did not find that rain passed through due to the little shapes surrounding the vent holes. I found the ear muffs fairly easy to manoeuvre at first and after more practice they are extremely easy. So yes, I'd still recommend one above all other helmets.
  4. I have a friend who's an airline captain and be likes to wear tights under his uniform trousers. He doesn't know that I know this so let's keep it as our secret. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  5. Grais, I reckon you ought to have a look at the Rope Knight thread. You'll be in your element slagging it off good and proper. You've been all over the Sidewinder, now the Slug. Where will it end?
  6. Good post DMc. I don't understand why Grais is on here slagging it off if he's not interested in it anyway. This is supposed to be an information sharing forum not on-line cage fighting.
  7. I use a Cinch and really rate it. I started with 11mm which was a bit 'stiff' so I now use 10mm and it's a massive difference.
  8. Haha. Fond memories. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. Yes but they won't tell me about the bad bits. Sent from me, to you!
  10. Hey guys, ward.S worked for me last week dismantling some Sycamore's over a footpath and road. His skills are excellent and his gear is in tip top condition. Really nice guy and works very well so i would recommend him to everyone. He's doing a Redwood dismantle with us next week. Sent from me, to you!
  11. I'm felling the tree on Wednesday and Thursday. Come and get some if you want it. Call Al on 07834 414271. Sent from me, to you!
  12. I don't footlock because I found it frustrating to learn so bought a Pantin instead, 2yrs ago.
  13. Just yanking yer chain big boy!
  14. Who knows anything about this little chipper? Price? Maybe a comparison with the Greenmech equivalent? NEW Wood Chippers, BANDIT 490XP WOOD CHIPPER offered for sale Price on Application
  15. Great video, especially when the clock gets to 1.12
  16. I have not been holding my breath, it's so damn cold I just can't draw a proper breath! But it's Saturday morning 6:51 and although the sun is out there is a fair bit of frost.
  17. Hey Silky, have you clipped all the keys to it because it's not heavy enough??
  18. I don't want to derail any of the other threads so I thought I should use this one to ask my questions. 1. How many of you use two Pantins to relieve stress on the knee? I don't mean two at the same time but alternate days or weeks maybe. 2. Where do you position your Pantin? Low on the foot or high on the ankle and why?
  19. I like the look of the back pad and gear loops. Silky Fox, from looking at it, I was convinced the Austria 3.1 would be my fave. I tried it on and found it was beyond awful (on me). Such a personal thing isn't it. I ended up with a Tree Motion. Sent from me, to you!
  20. If it's cheaper to buy it's because it will be made cheaper with cheaper parts. For those reasons I will never buy one.
  21. I have found if the leg loops are a bit loose the elastics pull the loops up and they crunch nut. Now I have the leg loops as tight as possible and try to keep them down low. I'm reluctant to shorten the bridge because it feels good as it is with my Hitch Hiker. Suppose I could try it. What do people do with the adjuster straps that join the waist to the leg loops?
  22. Some stories do have a happy ending after all! 👍👍😄 Sent from me, to you!
  23. I also recently got a TM and I love it, feel really balanced in it but its a proper nut cracker. Not loving that! Guess I just need to keep adjusting the straps. Fortunately I have sired two children already but if I hadn't, the TM would dash all hopes. 😱 Sent from me, to you!
  24. Flipping freezing here, still! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. I like the idea of the slug and doff my cap to the inventor, however, the flexibility between ring and slug is what will get it stuck just like a normal throw bag. That's why the Ropeknight and Throwpod are rigid. Interested to hear your results though.
