  1. For anybody that can't help bickering and swinging their d1cky, here is the link to the same thread on Treebuzz that you may like to read. This is how to communicate with decorum on the quest for knowledge. TreeBuzz Board: SRT or SRWP?
  2. I just read a thread on The Treehouse about abbreviations and yesterday at work I discussed the meaning of climbing on a single line verses a doubled line. My 'opponent' countered that he's still safer and weights are reduced if on DdRT. So, should the S in SRT mean Single or Static?? Anyway, there appears to be some hesitation from many people about the use of this system because it sounds less safe. Would the use of the word static help others feel more comfortable about trying it? Does the title Static Rope Technique sound more self explanatory? The answers are a yes from me (& the Americans) so I just wondered what the consensus here might be.
  3. When I started my business my wife left her hateful banker job and worked with me for eight months. We do domestic work and the clients loved it. The old people and the wives at home were much more relaxed. The letcherous old men love it too. Suddenly, 85yr old Grandpa would be out dragging a branch and flirting! 😂😂 Generally though, women aren't afflicted with an ego, like us dumb blokes. Therefore, less or zero damage to gear and property and less personal injury because they don't try to muscle stuff while the (female) client is watching. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. I have not done any more hand throwing practice this week, just used the BigShot. I have not had much practice with the RopeKnight either this week. The reason for this is that I get my branch on the second but usually first shot. With the old bag it was 2-4 shots. So that's enough proof for me that it works as the designer describes. It really does save time. 👍👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  5. BigShot and a RopeKnight. 👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. That looks very irresponsible to me! A health drinks cup with a hidden compartment for drugs trafficking!! 😱 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. I like your innovation Wolter. These things eventually lead to great things. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. Saron sis this large Eucalyptus dismantle with us today in high wind with a barn and hedge underneath. Perfectly smooth job. 👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. nz paul, another good tip is to take small steps to achieve height. Big strides up the rope consume energy and upset the balance and coordination. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  10. Got you. The simplest and cheapest kit I've seen is the roof rack strap and Archery trigger. The trigger is essential if you want to maximise accuracy, IMO. What's the point in having a RopeKnight then being let down by another components. It's like putting remould tyres on a Ferrari. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  11. This place will tick the boxes. Roof. Food. Nice view. http://www.johansens.com/england/devon/langdon-court-boutique-hotel--restaurant Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  12. I hope it is secure, now that you've advertised it on t'internet. 😂😂 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  13. Oh, bit of confusion here. As the thread is titled BigShot launcher, it's all about making a launcher and the BigShot is the 'sling shot' mounted on top. I guess there are plenty of variables for the launcher but the BigShot is the best launcher. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. No, I ordered an Archery trigger. Look at my photos above and you'll see a little black thing above the ISC Rocker. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. A catapult won't fire a throw weight and line beyond the second branch, sadly. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. There's a good reason that Redwood sell more chippers than anyone else. 👍👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  17. Sorry, I should have expanded on that. Putting a chipper on the front of a Mog is an excellent idea and I wished I had done it. It depends what size and weight of chipper on the front of a U1200. The 8" Schleising is a lot lighter than a 9-12" Bandit or Jensen. I had a u1200 with a heavy Jensen on the back and putting it on the front would have created all sorts of problems. My point is: lightweight Mog and heavy chipper is not wise, especially if the chipper is up front. Sorry I didn't make it clear. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  18. Holy Cow! Running a Unicender becomes more and more expensive! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. Gray Git. That's an excellent way of doing it but my system has a 3-1 although it's more expensive. Thing I like about that is the simplicity. In his other YouTube video about the setup, he's marking the poles with calibration references. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  20. Some guys are using two four foot Jameson poles. I have a carbon windsurf mast. An alloy tube would do the job though. A scaffold tube would do the job just as well but is heavy heavy.
  21. keep well hydrated and visit an Osteopath. If the later doesn't work, try another Osteo as they are all different.
  22. Don't know if its been mentioned by I would not put a chipper on front of a U1200 for multiple reasons. Do plenty of research on all of it, then do more research or you'll get a very very expensive mistake that you can't sell easily. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  23. Don't all jump at once guys, although he's working with us on Wednesday and Thursday so wait in line! 😜 Saron is a very productive asset for any small or large firm and he has the ability to fit in with a team and not rock the boat. I think he's also got his pricing just right because i know two other freelancers who charge more but are always struggling for work. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. Aha, that looks good and simple. Is there an optimum length for the strop I wonder? I'll set this up today and try it next week. As an aside, yesterday we worked on a row of 9 trees. I used the RopeKnight with BigShot and used 10 shots total. I know from experience that it would have been around 13 shots with the Highball and more with the standard throw bag. The missed shot hit a branch (because I didn't hold the BigShot steady) and the bounce was no worse than that with a regular bag and a great deal less than the Highball. Brilliant.
  25. Craigblues, you won't stop breathing if you don't have one but your life will be easier with less frustration and time wasted. That's a fact.
