  1. Love it. Frank Spencer used to say "every day in every way I'm getting better and better".
  2. Thanks for the replies fellas.
  3. I typically work a 5-10 mile radius from Hersham in Surrey. Can anybody tell me where the closest mills are to me? I will have some sticks of Beech, Cedar, and Pine soon. Thanks
  4. Crickey I pay half that. Not at Gunners though.
  5. Good luck. Try Gunners in Merrow, call first.

    Zig Zag

Any pioneers still using the MK1 Zig Zag captivated? How are the parts wearing and on what ropes?
  7. Doh!

    Ropes

Thanks Drew, I thought so due to price and look of the rope (online) the write ups varied slightly. If I bought enough Kern' from Yale I could have any colour I wanted with a new name and confuse things even more.

Cheers Adam. My pref' is Kern or Velocity I have 5m of Velocity for my strop and it has worn pretty well. I will have a go on Kern tomorrow hopefully and would like to find out the difference between that and Hedera.

Looking for others opinions on; Blaze Velocity Kernmaster/Hedera (difference)? New England Tachyon I am trying to select a line to run SRT with the Hitch Hiker. I used to use Imori which is my double line only draw back being it twists a lot and soaks up water like a sponge, then used Liros with prestretched tech which was great but technically not a climbing line. Would be good to hear others thoughts. Cheers
  11. Ball locks are fiddly as someone else said if you have sausage fingers. The plastic gates are not great as was proved when one failed on me dragging my truck after it buried itself half a Meter in the ground. This made me think what would happen if I fell 30m shock loading my system by a million tons my ilegal carabiner could fly open and hurt me.
  12. I have been looking to get my 54 plate canter remapped. Does anyone know of any tuners in the SE that do commercials?
  13. Google Arbrep Services and talk to Charles I recommend this guy as he knows what he's talking about.
  14. I wondered how long it would be before the inevitable looting or burgling started. Down in Somerset Marines are helping the public with defences, why not stick a few patrols out protecting people's property? If they have enough bod's.
  15. Don't forget Lord DooDah couldn't afford 5m to dredge rivers but could afford 31m to build a bird sanctuary. Money could have been spent wiser.
  16. 501Kg
  17. What's the score with insurance? Never had to show my tickets for cover but I bet if something went horribly wrong they would want to see proof of my competence (NPTC).
  18. Any one tried La Sportiva Boulder X Mid GTX for climbing if so what are they like? Thinking about trying a pair. At the mo' I'm using Scarpa Pro Ascent, I find the soles quite stiff unlike the sole on my Arbortek Aquafell Xpert if I could mould the 2 together that would be my perfect boot.
  19. We'll done fellas you have derailed another thread. How many times has someone asked a simple question then people have misread it ie; drink driving, 4 pints of what exactly? He hasn't asked you to be Poirot he asked how much would you charge! If more of you answered some of these questions without pomp and presumptions maybe we wouldn't have to trawl through 90 pages of bravado before we get back on topic to what usually starts as a good post. Have some emoticons
  20. Had trouble with IT Band on and off for about 15 years sometimes in both knees. Stretching and rolling help I also do leg raises, working and stretching the muscles. Spikes definitely didn't help leg raises did.
  21. If that was Blighty they would have stopped half way for a rolly then another at the top.
  22. Anyone got any thoughts on climbers plodding around a tree or is it just groundies that get the sympathy vote. I doubt the brisk pace is required every day just when required tell me if I'm wrong? Up the workers brothers........and sisters revolt now!
  23. Had the same thing with an 88 and found that if I started it standing up it wouldn't rip the handle out of my Kung fu grip. Hurts even more on a cold day. The spark plug eventually popped out because the thread had gone.
  24. Hi I'm in Hersham Surrey. Carl Springett Tree Surgery 07738013173
  25. Any know where I can hire an Entec Treebusta or similar? It will be used for a chipping Coni' in the back garden rather than carrying through property. Cheers
