  1. Stihl MS660 or Husqy 395XP which would you buy and why?
  2. I got done on Boxing Day. It seems they only had a bar as leverage to get in my garage. The garage is now rebuilt out of 9 inch block with electric roller shutter, 2 Bulldog ground bolts, and 1 Doberman that calls it home. I was quoted nearly 5K to replace tools and have been offered 2K from insurance it's wear and tear you know insurance still hasn't paid out. Didn't really want to call Police because I know they will do nuttin so basically it's up to the owner to pay insurance to rip him off and put as many obstacles in the b@st@rds way as poss. If you do take the law into your own hands you can bet you'll be the one nicked and the skag heads get councelling!
  3. That's what happens when you put a squirrels brain in a mans head absolutely hilarious nearly as good as the tread mill videos on You Tube.
  4. Garage broken into on Boxing Day. Loss adjuster turned up today and was off to see another Surgeon in my area. Lost some kit, and my bikes. They couldn't get into my KNAACK tool safe that had all the precious tools in neither could I unless I had the key (I tried). Well worth the money.
  5. Are there are any consultants out there in or around Surrey that could help an Arb with 11 years in the trade who passed the Tech Cert in 2011 gain more experience in tree surveying/report writing?

  7. If you are a qualified self employed climber or groundsman. . . I am a Tree Surgeon based in Hersham, Surrey in need of a GOOD pair of hands from time to time.
  8. Is there any one near Hersham or Walton on Thames that'll take timber (rings and cord)? If there is enough ie; 40 foot Oak stem 50cm diameter at base, someone that could pick a full truck load up in an ideal world?
  9. I had best result with Osteo. She told me I have tight hamstrings and glutes now I stretch religiously and crack my own back job done. Try squats all the way to your heals with hands out or above your head just body weight this stretches and strengthens legs and core.
  10. Don't talk to me about Canters.....just had a bill for parts and labour £2800.00 inc VAT! Some parts only main dealers can supply and being Mercedes they are expensive. Other than that good truck for an 04 and has never really had any huge bills or work. Look at twin wheel Cabstar or Isuzu Grafter.
  11. Any one out there either want to take approx' 7m3 (15 pallettes stacked like a mountain) of hard wood, mainly rings, off me. Or Is there any one with a processor near Ripley Surrey that can split the lot? Thank you fellas
  12. Free lance? Good sense of humour? Can work from Hampton Court Surrey? Got references? I have just started out as a sole trader after 9 years in the buis' and would like to get to know some freelance bods.
  13. Dude, chin with lowering ropes and alternate your grip. One arm one rope then move on to Gorilla chins!
  14. Totally agree. Replant with Conifers if it is on a boundary:lol: Loads of people replant or plant with the wrong specimens so where is the harm in rmoving and replanting. Apart from the obvious!
  15. I have put an add in Arbtrader Misc' for a stack of mixed hardwood split and rings approx' 12-15 tons in all and various stages of seasoning the oldest 1 year. £40 a ton for rings £60 a ton for the split wood so there is still a profit margin there:001_smile:
  16. After 9 years of climbing and a year of uming and ering I decided to buy a PETZL Sequoia harness in place of my Komet Dragonfly £150 thank you very much HB's.
  17. Correct me if wrong but pigeon comes under vermin and I am sure that the client can contract somebody to remove the nest ie you:confused1: If you come across say a Robin nest during nesting season you must leave it or if accidentaly removed try and relocate it at a similar height, the mother will usually find it.
  18. The lady in question thought that one quote was a good idea originaly, pretty persuasive. Another tree surgeon quoting say's he has experience of working in that road? and to just put in an app' for a reduction. I suggested the meet with TO to put across a case with the customer for a good reduction over a period of 3 years. All this without cost, on the way to the yard you see! Any way I offered 3 references down the same road and the usual patter about insurance etc and can you prove it.
  19. That's put my mind at ease I thought for a minute I was over complicating things. I was asked to quote on the tpo'd tree within conservation area and I know that the LA is going to put their own spec' down. They are very good in Elmbridge really helpfull. Instead the potential client just wants 3 quotes which to me seems like an exercise in quoting as there is no bench mark for a set amount to be taken out.
  20. Pot holed roads. Under achieving schools. NHS going down the pan. Rubbish pensions. I'm off to Finland!
  21. If you had a potential client that has a mature copper beech in their front garden within an afluent, historic, conservation area and they have asked you to "make it smaller". How many people would involve the tree officer first to get his recommendations and talk through other options before quoting and submitting an app' of your own?
  22. In Surrey not so much Euc' but nearly every Mimosa I have seen is absolutely hanging.
