  1. Seems to be loads of unimogs for sale at the moment. Are people getting rid before the new rules on fast tractors come in?
  2. Maybe that's why I'm seeing so many older cheap mewps for sale recently? Anyone tow with a mewp?
  3. There is a 7.5 ton truck mewp for sale locally and the guy says its mot exempt and can run on red diesel? Is this true? And if so are there any restrictions? O licence? Is it legal to tow a chipper with? Hope someone can clear this up.
  4. Where's the wine holder mick?
  5. Is that something greenmech would carry out? Its old damage from the previous owner, I'm guessing it was caused by the blade coming loose as this blade was held in by a non nylock nut!
  6. Is it OK to weld up damage on a chipper blade pocket then grind and drill to get it back to original shape?
  7. I'm with Kevin on this, the whole refresher thing is ridiculous. It would be better if the original course was harder to pass, there are plenty with tickets that shouldn't have them. If you want to work in fc forests you have to do a FISA refresher every 5 years! My irata (rope access) ticket has to be redone every 3 years, its a week of training then assessment.
  8. There are plenty cowboys with tickets who don't have a clue what they are doing!
  9. Cracking set up you've got there! Does the chipper ever get clogged up because of the extra long chute? Really enjoying seeing what your up to silky.
  10. I like the look of the black chippers, seriously thinking about painting my safe track black when I get round to tarting it up.
  11. Has anyone tried the silvey square ground chain like the chainsaw guy and buckin billy use?
  12. Nice tidy job stumpy ?

    7.5 ton iveco

Basically I'm looking for something that can carry the 3 ton digger and grab and tow the safetrack on the ifor tipper at the same time to save doing two runs? It's quite rural here in Argyll so I can be travelling 50 plus miles from the yard for work! Chip can usually be left on site or tipped somewhere local to the job.

    7.5 ton iveco

Thanks for all your replies. I only have a pre 97 licence so was hoping to keep it to 7.5 ton but am I right in thinking I would need a class 1 licence to tow 2.9 ton ? That's a nice truck roseyweb, is it the same physical size as a 7.5 tonner? How much wedge?
  20. Nice one silky, see some new sights.

    7.5 ton iveco

Im thinking about buying an iveco 7.5 ton tipper truck, anyone running one want to tell me if they are any good? Would it be able to take a three ton digger in the back and tow a safetrack 1928 legally ?
  22. You coming north silky?
  23. What chipper is it? I think my greenmech 1928 takes 32.
  24. Local hire shop to me said machine was only insured inside their yard, as soon as you drive through the gates it's on you!
  25. Your not going to burn out the clutch unless you slip it, and that winch will easily handle 10inch trees if the clutch is good ?
