  1. Quite so Marc different strokes and all that:001_smile:
  2. Well I have seen you blokes on video with all the stuff and it is very impressive, however I am on spikes pretty much all the time so I just get to the anchor point with the flipline, or freeclimb, Flintstones stuff I admit but at 48 too old to change.
  3. What on earth is wrong with ladders? take it out the van, against the tree, 20 odd feet up like climbing the stairs! then when you come down for a cuppa, no bother getting back up.
  4. Like the man said, wire core flipline, top handled stihl and...that's it.
  5. Use the keyword ELAGAGE, or ELAGUER/GRIMPEUR, might yield better results; Mick
  6. Might as well of snapped that tooth off, would not have made any difference.
  7. actually a very good idea! bit expensive though.
  8. Looks like a beast, I wish I was a hydraulics expert, I would save myself a fortune!
  9. Dropping a track is a pita, after half a dozen putting it back on is routine (sure you know that!) what's the grinder? Vermeer obviously, but which model?
  10. Thank you, unusual and enjoyable, do the horses have an appetite for this work? do they enjoy it? at the end of a hard day do they revolt? (I know nothing of horses!)

  14. I am not, but good for you, more power to your elbow:thumbup:
  15. The Hornbeam will be fine. Refusing to do certain work because it is against your principles? You presumably would have no objection to removing it?
  16. Hi Ty, for something like that a tractor-pelle would be more economic (or something bigger)
  17. Ha ha too right, so far they look ok:001_smile:
  18. Neat roundup or any glyphosphate based weedkiller in drilled holes has never failed for me.
  19. Good man Geoff I'm 48, worked with a guy who was 55 when I started. Plenty of time left!
  20. Thanks I will check the switch in the morning.
  21. Thanks just registered and posted the question. Don't let that stop anyone on here though!
  22. Hi there hoping someone can offer a solution, the headlights and rear lights on my 130 have stopped, i have checked all the fuses (normally this happens with badly wired tailboards) and they are all ok, i have noticed that recently the lights come on slowly almost like those long life ones you buy these days in the house. The other day I put a new bulb in a headlight as the mainbeam in that side had gone and it still did not work, then this, are they linked? I think perhaps it is a poor earth, but where is the earth?. Thanks in advance, Mick
  23. I do it differently; get a height from the client, talk about it then just do it, do not consult during the work (if poss) as they will only fret and put you off. I do not ask the groundy either as they cannot really see from under the tree. Don't do it by commitee as it becomes a dog's dinner. Just my thoughts on it.
  24. I forget his name but someone on here calls them the mortgage tree, and he's right.
  25. Good Pics, nice weather for it, not the biggest you say, not the smallest either!
