  4. From a processing point of view ash, but burning I'd say oak.. I've just come into a small amount of blackthorn can anyone tell a newbie what its like to split cured vs green and what it'll burn like? Sorry for hijacking tour thread with a question of my own medip just figured a wood discussion would be best place to ask..
  5. My two Staffs.. Bodhi, black and white male is 18 months old so has plenty to grow.. and Gem, tan and white bitch is 2 and a half.. Gem we joke has bits missing as she's either on or off.. Bodhi on the other hand is chilled and docile already so a real Ying and Yang pair :D

  8. Happy birthday buddy, looking forward to the silky fox show :D:thumbup:
  9. Nptcs are proof of competence and understanding regarding safe practice... I have mine, as do the guys I work with, I also carry level 3 forestry and arb.. wouldn't have it any other way... at no point do I suggest that nptc tickets are the equivalent of experience, I'm starting out at 34 having been a builder for 13 years and I know the value of experience, however I believe in training... I've heard it all before in building.. "can't teach me anything I don't know".. "been doing this longer than assessor"... blah blah .. I don't doubt these people know a lot more than I, but everyone should make the effort to keep up with modern safe practice... guessing we all still flush cut and fill cavitys right .. its expensive.. agreed but certs are important and no matter the cost I'll continue to train in certs while learning through experience as I go... only we can regulate our companies and industry at ground level... imo
  10. Nice going Pete, onward and upward.. love the buzz of passing assessments
  11. And the 203t... with the 204t just starting production
  12. I can second that.. 30 and 31 with Paul peacock.. just done 39 through Paul with Tony price training us, highly recommend them.. as do all the people I've sent their way.
  13. Well done mate, I'm always chuffed when I pass as should you be. Great sense of achievement :D Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Nice one mate, sounds like your finally making progress.. I feel the same about this as pricing and general tree care, if we don't make a stand on matters such as this nothing in our industry will change.. good on ya
  15. Raised path has to be best option all around imo.. root removal is done in sections over years to allow larger specimens to be moved but they are supported when re planted to add stability.. guy wires etc Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Cs39 passed

In his words I got a little ambitious with my first directional fell.. snapped the hinge a little early trying to direct it side ways (his suggestion to direct it, my mistake on how sideways it'd go) so he asked me to do another which went fine.
