  1. Dear Stihl I am (soon to be was) a loyal customer that works in the arb industry and uses Stihl products on a daily basis.. one of millions I would guess. I recently found out about the changes in your policy that no longer allows me to buy your products online. I'd like to place on record that for machinery I am 100% in favour of a face to face exchange. However, I like millions of others rely completely on a next day delivery service on parts and ppe that keeps me working and my family cared for.. your change in policy means I can no longer use your products, I do have a good local dealer and unlike a lot of others I don't mind paying higher prices (which all local dealers will be as they no longer have competition) but I don't have the time or the extra fuel required to use him on a regular basis and most small dealers don't maintain high stock levels meaning more visits as well as time waisted and jobs either cancelled or heavily delayed not only costing me more money but destroying my great customer service and satisfaction record. I feel that though this is a commendable move to help your dealer network, you've neglected the people that matter the most, your customers. This is not about prices or machines for me, it's simple availability on parts and ppe. I hope this reaches a sympathetic ear. Yours Former customer Martyn
  2. Great stuff Adam, all the girls here squeaked when they saw the pic:thumbup:
  3. The new back ring on the motion upgraded is ppe rated.. manual states that it's for mewp attachment.. aside from the carritool attachment points it's still the only one rated to take saw weight so I'm guessing double purpose now
  4. Both work well.. a nice snapgate can be a blessing for saw.. as can carritool.. snapgate can fold flat out of the way but can be harder to find on the quick, carritool is always there but can get caught up in a thick connie.. swings and roundabouts I guess.. best thing about the motion is its totally customisable for each climbers wish and whim. I love it (not sure I say that enough )
  5. I only added 2 carritools and a couple of loops.. less is more in this case.. even took one off the leg that I'd added as it can get caught up.. loving the motion
  6. Great choice mate.. had mine a couple of weeks and absolutely love it :D:D
  7. You won't regret it buddy, the training is well worth the money imo.. I've not long done 39 and have 41 booked, the training for 39 Allowed me to get totally up to date on current practice (some had changed since college a year ago ) as well as getting dedicated time to practice under instruction.. plus you always learn something useful you didn't expect to :D
  8. Just bought a TM upgraded.. best decision I've made :D:D had it a couple of weeks now and wow, now I know why it's so popular.. and the moment you get it fine tuned  ok think I'm done:rolleyes:
  9. I have a right one as I'm right handed.. however I have considered buying a left so o can spread the burn :D
  10. I use hitchclimber and pantin, works for the long hall and when you need to get back through a union
  11. Not totally true mate.. I just got access to something called "flexible support grant" for a pair of chainsaw trousers... And they can do one application for training in 12 months so ask about bidding for a course under LVP dont know what it stands for but it's sorted me for my 41... Hope this helps
  12. The dots appear but lincs police say it's a hoax.. still wouldn't take the chance.
  13. This was what he originally contacted me about.. do you know the colours pls so we can check
  14. Will suggest it to him now.. though I believe he's painted over it quick smart.
  15. My thoughts exactly.. everything's alarmed.

Climbing is the best way, I weighed in a 16 and a half stone when I started my level 2 at college, I climbed every chance I got, gaps between lessons and weekends, nothing better... 4 yrs later and now 13 stone and I'm now starting the 100 pushup challenge (didn't see me doing that when I started)
  21. My point exactly.. side to side is harder to break in that situation:thumbup:
  22. So if the stem was at 45 degrees is it vertical or horizontal cutting?
  23. I wasn't taking massive but your point is a valid one on horizontal stuff:thumbup:... I was thinking more of chogging or blocking down something with a lean.. again all my own opinion, there are guys with decades more exp here, wood characteristics is something I'm still learning
  24. From what I know and have tested myself yes but I have little experience, what I can tell you is the bigger the wood the harder it can be to break it sideways as the up down allows you to work with the weight of the piece.. my own experience
  25. Hi Dave, got this doing 39 with Tony... lantra book he produces... In the pic the branch is viewed from the top.. hope this, works cos I've done it on my phone.. scanner can be used later if not.. Can also bring this book into college for ya
