  2. Thanks I did change the rocker cover gasket a couple months ago as it seemed like an easy place to start! - the old gasket had a small nick in it but it obviously wasn't that. It looks like it could be somewhere in behind the exhaust or fuel tank as that looks like the highest point that is damp. I will see if I can investigate further later on in the week. It's sods law that if I take it apart I will need it the next day!
  3. Just to bump this, spring is in the air, and the grass is starting to burst into life I can be contacted on 07725 513540 Cheers

  5. Hi folks, got a Honda GX340 which has developed a small oil leak. Just the odd drip I think but the machine can be in use for a few hours at a time on the same spot so it can leave a mark Even after cleaning and running it again it's hard to see where it's coming from as it's well splattered over the engine. Has anyone got any tips or suggestions of what it could be or where best to start? Thanks
  6. Looks a nice pile to get stuck in to There would be a mountain of sweepings from the splitter, wonder if you could sell it (or use it yourself?)
  7. Does anyone want an Aspen "fill partner" automatic spout? fits on the 5l bottles. I bought it to go on a combi can but it doesn't quite fit. Would swap for an Oregon automatic petrol spout.
  8. Few pics of the various log stores and assorted junk. It looks less messy in real life, honest! It works out about 18m3 in total. As I don't own the place I built a number of smaller stores that could all be put on a trailer if/when I move. Although in saying that I also built a 26'x10' shelter set in the ground, along with a shed (and planted trees/bushes, put down stone, dug ditches, laid paving, removed trees, got rid of bracken etc etc etc) The all but empty empty log store is my dry wood! :laugh1: I tend to let logs stockpile on the ground for months on end then do it all in a oner, split/barrow/stack
  9. I think I'm well stocked up for next year but really onto the last dregs of dry/semi-dry wood for this winter Will try and get a photo in the next few days. The problem I have is as soon as a log store is empty it ends of full of other junk - useful off cuts of wood, tools, bits of rope, manky jackets drying, etc etc etc! So you never have anywhere to put the logs
  10. You'll get the hinges from a somewhere that does trailer parts (or ebay!)
  11. For winter, these are good outdoor gloves, no use for anything intricate though 12 PAIRS HI VIZ THERMAL WINTER BUILDERS LATEX WORK GLOVES GARDENING NEW | eBay

  13. If I was local I would offer to clear it for free (I'm very generous:biggrin:) but the branches would be going on a bonfire in their garden!
  14. What to watch aswell is you get some blades designed for green wood and some for bone dry/dead wood, make sure you get the right one!
  15. Wagon driver was going too fast to look properly. Balcas is just round the corner so the driver would've been delivering there, and probably uses that junction dozens of times a week, obviously complacency has set in! On the news the local councillor was wanting a roundabout or traffic lights put in - a simple STOP sign would've probably avoided this near miss!
  16. Youtube "suggested videos" is dangerous, you could spend all day on there! Thought this guys idea with a poly tunnel made out of plastic pipe was a clever idea for a small wood shed. (not sure how well it would last in the wind?) Unfortunately, he waffles on a fair bit [ame] [/ame]
  17. Try Buy cheap tyres online @ Mytyres.co.uk - tyre dealer for car and budget tyres
  18. The bag on the right isn't kindling:001_tt2:
  19. Hi, looking for part time work to try and fill a few more days in the week, whether it be a one off or on-going. Experienced in woodland maintenance, tree felling, grass cutting, lots of strimming, brushcutting, hedge trimming, groundscare, bit of fencing, ditching, building maintenance, basic joinery/woodcraft, lots of firewood production and would like to think I was quite good at just general fixing/mending things. Based nr Dingwall, have own transport, saw, and the usual tools, and a few bits of small machinery. Get in touch if you'd to know more Kyle

    creosote

Octopost, from what I remember they are about £4 each Creosote posts - Davies Implements
  21. Forgot I took these pictures, this is the splitter outside the house last week, it's warmed up last few days, most of the snow has gone. Has been a fairly average winter so far I'd say, the only weather I don't like is rain!
  22. I've used Creocote before and I thought it was a bit rubbish, smelt like rotten eggs and the timber looked like it had been washed with muddy water once it dried! Maybe it was a dodgy batch if folks on here seem to like it? I've also used a brand called Creoseal Plus, this is a lot more like proper creosote, smells nice, and brings out the grain nicely
  23. He's hit the first tree at the end of the bus lane and the beginning of the height limit, doh! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.514978,-0.118578,3a,69.6y,136.33h,86.36t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s0dhMjsvZA4MnCXbB5nj40Q!2e0?hl=en I think it's terrible, someone should put up a warning sign about the overhanging trees
  24. I would imagine if it's hot enough for a kettle it's hot enough for a fan! £40 off amazon, job done
  25. Just out of interest, do you know what species of hybrid willow it is?
