  1. If I remember right you have to (supposed to!) use the tacho for the whole week if at some point you've been in the scope of needing it. ie pull a trailer on the Monday and you have to use the tacho for all your driving, trailer or not, for the rest of the week Of course, if you got stopped and checked on the Tuesday, they wouldn't know what you'd been up to the day before! And all other time spent loading/unloading/working eats in to your driving time. My brother is a hgv driver, does it still count as his weekly rest if he comes and helps with logs on a weekend
  2. Got the flywheel off with a homemade puller (bit of steel) I assume it's the crankshaft seal, plenty of muck splattered round behind the flywheel? How do you change the crank seal, is it possible to do it without splitting the engine open?
  3. UV dye, that sounds very csi!! Finally had the chance to start taking it apart, nice coating of oil and muck
  4. I had a set of the lidl ones but they packed in within a matter of weeks! Lost the receipt so no chance of a refund
  5. I got a 1600kg one off securefixdirect (on ebay) years ago, good bit of kit, doesn't get used that often but has proved very useful and has pulled some fair weights Wire Rope Hoists
  6. Assuming it's on grass (not a driveway!) you could push 4 road pins into the ground to hold the loops on the bag
  7. If you ever fancy working for free in the highlands I'm sure I could include digs
  8. Honda for both Or atleast a Honda engined mower
  9. You can get chinguards for visors, like this Protector - Interchange 250mm Acetate Visor with ABS Chinguard - Certified to EN166 F - Helmet Sold Separately - [TY-IV901AA] Keeps your mouth covered (most of the time)
  10. What about wildlife, nothing like a mashed up frog being splattered over you , that's why I always strim with a full plastic visor

  13. Thanks I did change the rocker cover gasket a couple months ago as it seemed like an easy place to start! - the old gasket had a small nick in it but it obviously wasn't that. It looks like it could be somewhere in behind the exhaust or fuel tank as that looks like the highest point that is damp. I will see if I can investigate further later on in the week. It's sods law that if I take it apart I will need it the next day!
  14. Just to bump this, spring is in the air, and the grass is starting to burst into life I can be contacted on 07725 513540 Cheers

  16. Hi folks, got a Honda GX340 which has developed a small oil leak. Just the odd drip I think but the machine can be in use for a few hours at a time on the same spot so it can leave a mark Even after cleaning and running it again it's hard to see where it's coming from as it's well splattered over the engine. Has anyone got any tips or suggestions of what it could be or where best to start? Thanks
  17. Looks a nice pile to get stuck in to There would be a mountain of sweepings from the splitter, wonder if you could sell it (or use it yourself?)
  18. Does anyone want an Aspen "fill partner" automatic spout? fits on the 5l bottles. I bought it to go on a combi can but it doesn't quite fit. Would swap for an Oregon automatic petrol spout.
  19. Few pics of the various log stores and assorted junk. It looks less messy in real life, honest! It works out about 18m3 in total. As I don't own the place I built a number of smaller stores that could all be put on a trailer if/when I move. Although in saying that I also built a 26'x10' shelter set in the ground, along with a shed (and planted trees/bushes, put down stone, dug ditches, laid paving, removed trees, got rid of bracken etc etc etc) The all but empty empty log store is my dry wood! :laugh1: I tend to let logs stockpile on the ground for months on end then do it all in a oner, split/barrow/stack
  20. I think I'm well stocked up for next year but really onto the last dregs of dry/semi-dry wood for this winter Will try and get a photo in the next few days. The problem I have is as soon as a log store is empty it ends of full of other junk - useful off cuts of wood, tools, bits of rope, manky jackets drying, etc etc etc! So you never have anywhere to put the logs
  21. You'll get the hinges from a somewhere that does trailer parts (or ebay!)
  22. For winter, these are good outdoor gloves, no use for anything intricate though 12 PAIRS HI VIZ THERMAL WINTER BUILDERS LATEX WORK GLOVES GARDENING NEW | eBay

  24. If I was local I would offer to clear it for free (I'm very generous:biggrin:) but the branches would be going on a bonfire in their garden!
  25. What to watch aswell is you get some blades designed for green wood and some for bone dry/dead wood, make sure you get the right one!
