  1. What about experimenting with debris netting tied on. It will allow some air through but keep the worst of rain out
  2. What about keeping an eye out for a knackered pressure washer/generator/etc with a Honda engine. Still a bit of a gamble. But the Honda gx engines are good!
  3. Got the aldi phone. Camera is rubbish and there's no predictive text, but apart from that seems a decent enough basic phone that should stand up to abuse!
  4. I wired up work lights, reverse lights, and interior lights on a box trailer I used to have. Just did it through a grey caravan socket.
  5. Sort of related... a passenger in a vehicle was killed in Inverness after crashing into an unlit artic trailer Chances missed to save father | Inverness Courier | Home
  6. There's one coming up in Aldi tomorrow by chance, don't know if it's any good, but I will probably be getting one! https://www.aldi.co.uk/rugged-mobile-phone/p/069930022893700
  7. Just to bump an old thread!! Here's a new log store I've been slowly working on when I have the spare time It will be getting slatted sides at some point, just glad to have the roof finished The roof is 17ft by 32ft
  8. Useful wee thing
  9. Not today, but a couple of weeks back, using the new (to me) tracked barrow to cart a couple ton of beech down a steep hill Just the ticket
  10. 240v impact wrench in Lidl next Monday > Parkside Impact Wrench - Monday, 28.03. - Lidl UK £29.99, should be ok for occasional use
  11. Harry Potter train aint going anywhere at the minute! West Coast Railway Company prohibited from main line running
  12. She's a clever lass. It's a windy day and if she got out at the same time all the crisp packets/receipts/papers from the cab would be strewn across the field! Wish my other half could learn this!
  13. It's a good video, but the website address at the start and end is wrong
  14. I would say get an air powered one
  15. I feel sorry for him
  16. Oh and I did eventually get the vinyl cutter working again!
  17. Hey Jim, good to hear from you. I'm not on facebook but I seen some of the photos posted at the time. What's the place looking like now? We will have to come through for a weekend in the spring!
  18. Not unless you're after a drink!
  19. 2nd battery would be an optional extra (or easy to fit yourself!). Think they came as standard on mk7 rear wheel drive
  20. Check the wires to the alternator, I had mine go at the multiplug to it
  21. Start small, think of it as a campfire. Keep all the sticks running the same way It's perfectly possible to fell any tree and burn it the same day, even in the rain, but that's a bit harder! You'll need some dry wood, you might be able to find dead branches off the ground that are dry. A wee bit of coal can help too Petrol is no use Red diesel/used oil, old tyres can be useful! Conifer is usually easy. I've lit fires before using only a lighter and twigs off the ground - no brought in materials! Cannae beat a fire
  22. Scrap that, this came in the post today! Thanks Rye Oil!
  23. I got a set of the Oregon black braces, a few months ago, and stuffed them away in a cupboard until I broke out the new trousers. They were nice and comfy, but went to use them today for the first time and one side snapped within 2 hours
  24. Thanks, I will probably buy more 10w40 semi synthetic, think it was only about a tenner per 5l can at the motor factors
  25. Just wondering, Honda always recommend using 10w30 oil but it's pretty hard to track down! In the past I have used 10w40, 5w30, straight 30, etc. What is the most suitable oil? The various engines are usually used in temps from just below zero to 20degrees C
