  1. Thanks for the heads up. I've never been, despite living a lot closer than you.
  2. Stihl could have brought their calendar models along
  3. That's very kind of you Mr Stephenson, i'll be sure to sniff out your pitch.
  4. I live fairly close so i've been to Cheffins auction a few times. Most of the stuff goes for top dollar - or at least the stuff i've wanted to bid on!
  5. Not sure but must only be 1 or 2mm. Please update us if you successfully source a heavy duty cable that fits.
  6. Shame about the brakes on what's otherwise a cracking little grinder. I've resigned myself to having to replace a broken cable two or three times a year and so aways order a spare. I've thought about trying to adapt it to a disc brake but as the swing action goings from tyre to tyre, it will be very difficult.
  7. Have you serviced it yet? I'll catch up with you Friday night. Won't be camping but I got the last room going at The Holford - I have to give the new hip a bit of luxury nowadays!
  8. Only as a replacement rope for my grillon (pre Art positioner) - worked a treat!
  9. If Mr Plogs is there, hang around with him and you will learn from the master of discount haggler.
  10. Surely it has to be a Kimono?
  11. I've installed dozens over the last decade and as far as i'm aware all are still there. I have had to remove/replace a few failed ones that other people have installed but every time it's been due to incorrect installation. It amazes me how often i see them poorly installed, they are so easy to do correctly with a bit of common sense. I like the system. It lets the tree naturally flex but helps prevent the excessive flex in strong winds. This should allow the tree to still put on increment girth and reaction growth where it is needed. I'm not so sure whether it would hold a major failure together but if there was a strong chance of that then i would be recommending removal of the tree. I'd agree that the longevity will be nowhere near a wire brace. I've taken trees down, still with a sturdy wire brace in that my dad installed 30-40years previously but i believe Cobra should be inspected at 5 year intervals.
  12. Is that all the climbers in the firm? I attended the AA rigging day at Thetford, would that not be enough Thinking of attending the ArbAC prep day at Chelmsford in May, i have a feeling that it may take me more than 3 months to get everything up to scratch for the assessment.
  13. Just put my bit in, well done Nikki
  14. Your common garage roof will be cement bonded asbestos. You'll be fine around this as long as you don't start dropping lumps of tree through it.
  15. Any wolf fleeces, i left my much loved one on a plane in Miami last year Might make it around mid-day as i'm waiting for my car to come back from the garage - if not then defo tomorrow.
  16. Well at least i'm glad that it wasn't just me being stupid!
  17. Mick George also has a waste site at St Ives.
  18. Yes, the photo were taken this morning.
  19. Hi Paul, I came across that one when I was browsing the books - a close match.
  20. Yeah, that did cross my mind. The leaflites didn't seem quite right and i'd never seen one in flower so wasn't sure on thoses
  21. This morning i was asked to id this. I feel like I should know it but it has me stumped.
  22. When i recently had to have the piston rings changed on my GX390 the mower mechanic was also praising Chinese engines as a replacement which did surprise me. I'll certainly be looking in to it when it needs changing.
  23. If it's the V1505 engine like that in the TW150 then it's around 5 litres,
  24. £100 each, £350 the lot - when can i pick them up?
  25. Reminds me of my boy scouting days when we buried our ****.
