  1. me too, the sound of a two stroke:thumbup1: good job, what helmet cam did you use?
  2. there is one here, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HUSQVARNA-CHAINSAW-346XP-PROFESSIONAL-/260984022739?pt=UK_Home_Garden_GardenPowerTools_CA&hash=item3cc3dc26d3#ht_930wt_1185 the bar size will cut all you want and the money you save will buy your safety kit:thumbup1: job done:thumbup: some times the more you look into it, you cant see the wood for the trees just do it
  3. never ever seen a makita in a forest.............. nuf said dont know why you dont just get a good s/h saw and use for a year to get the hang of it and if you still have limbs after that >>>>>>>> go orange
  4. Thats the difference Skyhuck, we can sleep at night and never be millionaires but who would want all that money. When they put all this crap on tv it has an hidden gender... like hiding the fact the government are killing our NHS using all the crooked ways they can I have to stop there or I will through the laptop out the window:blushing:
  5. just a tiny note, it's not 2T and 4T, your confusing it with 2 stroke oil called that by some makes. And a Husky 254 would run the bars your talking about and last many years. I find they cut faster than Stihl saws but I know Stihl users will make comments and very happy with their favourite saws:001_tt2:
  6. Petrol is not what it used to be, thats for sure. But I been quoted £19.75 a gallon of Aspen only last week. I wont be going there:sneaky2: If it was sold everywhere then maybe the price would come down, nearest to me is Bristol at £17.?? and have it collected. The plus side is saws are so clean inside and always start after sitting on the shelf for weeks, some times months! I am a very satisfied Aspen user:thumbup1:
  7. I would say get yourself a GOOD S/H Husqvarna 254 & use Aspen, much as above really. Worth asking spudulike on here, he is red hot with saws and may have what your after. Plenty on ebay:lol: but you have to know them inside out & be able to strip them before you start using them. Good luck, get a good pair of boots/trousers too
  8. nice one Butler TV will do anything to make a program, sadly 98.9% of the general public believe what they see on the TV and read in news papers, it has to be right eh!!!!!!!!!! A farmer friend was quite chuffed when a tv program was going to include him & the farm, the tv crew took a whole day filming and messing about, we all watched the program when it came on weeks later, all 8 seconds of it! He said never again, they promised him the coverage would help farming in general but all they wanted was a tiny bit of cow s**t on the presenters wellies If anyone is approached to be filmed I would take caution and really look into it first. To me the media including tv producers are no better than Mr Smith and his boys rant over :-) oh... PS, what do they get paid.... far too much you would never believe it HONESTLY
  9. I have leaded them in the past but used resin when it came out years ago from Hilti, it is great stuff and Hilti does a kit. IMHO it is much better than any cheaper Screwfix stuff and you get what you pay for in this case. Hilti Online - HIT-HY 70 Injection System if you think it expensive compared to Screwfix........... It's a bit like Husqvarna & Stihl compared to Nutool & Ryobi chainsaws !
  10. The ones with the money hang onto it, wish they would make a program on how some of these crooks rob us. I am not talking of the old lady's out there who cant wait to pay you, make tea and are great customers. I am talking about the ones who agree a price then dont want to pay for a month then try to knock you down. Yes been there done all that, learnt along the way and now spot them a mile off:001_rolleyes:
  11. this craze is pretty new, you can partly blame ebay I have seen them very cheap. BUT... I thought they only came down when the flame went out?????? all the ones I have seen lit are still climbing in the sky
  12. Cash on collection at a lay-bye down the road......... any road I guess after this sale the seller will never be seen on ebay again under that name !!
  13. They do have ways believe me, your not dealing with a mickey mouse outfit here this is heavy C&E stuff:blushing: They dont mess around and will take your truck:sneaky2: But it amazes me how many pikies get away with it, probably because they have nothing to loose except a crap pickup a lots of us at one time or another may have tried the odd gallon:001_tt2: but these days its not worth the hassle
  14. please tell me you dont leave that in the car over night :-(
  15. the front tyres are probably solid
  16. just another money making racket to rob the hard worker even more. H&S getting more farcical by the month
  17. [quote name= I can honestly say that in better than 20 years using saws I have never felt nausea (due to the saw) and my health is just fine.[/quote] You must have electric saws, I remember well when they brought out the lead free stuff and had head aches, felt sick, burning nose. admittedly I was cutting in a railway cutting on a wet day so fumes were hanging about but we have all used a hedge cutter and know how fumes stay in the hedge and choke us. You carry on and I hope your never ill, but I got 20 more years on top of you and can honestly say Aspen makes a huge difference, its just a shame it is so expensive:sneaky2: and still hard to get hold of in a lot of places
  18. It's been said the oil is made for water cooled, and rightly so. Stay away from it, you have a good saw treat it like a good saw and dont penny pinch on oil! It will cost you dear very soon!! Good oil wont let you down, petrol on the other hand will, by the sound of it you wont spend on Aspen but would be ideal in your cutting circumstances, just maybe worth thinking about. Good luck and stay away from the "bargain"
  19. Sounds all too familiar, will we ever be able to just grab a can closer to home I wonder
  20. What can I say, STUNNING & PURE TALENT hats off to you man
  21. I reported scam stuff on ebay & fraudulent listings, only once did ebay take action and remove the listing? they dont care they are getting their cut just another bunch of crooks you cant get to talk to, hidden behind a button "Contact"
  22. you all been spoilt, what wrong with a good old Willans
  23. banks & police do do much until it effects them, you have to really make a fuss and go higher to get any sense. I had money posted me too from Ireland £200 in notes in an envelope, very risky but I too am one of life's honest guy's....... that's why I am broke. In my years all the people I have known with money have been 95% crooks and bastards to work for and dont pay or take advantage you live and learn!
