  1. Cool on the job, best way to work :-)
  2. Whatever you you price it at if the customer wants it cheap they will look around and some @~#@ in a pickup will do it at half the price and dump the trees in the nearest gate way. Give a price your happy with but at the same time not under cutting yourself, OR bang in a high price if your not that keen on doing it, you maybe surprised at the outcome
  3. I hope you all realise they are trying to do the same with the NHS too, and you never know when you will need it. This goverment is so sneaky and doing its best to ruin everything the same as thatcher did years ago. They are all the same you just have to make your own minds up who is the worse :-(
  4. Nice collection, which is sure to grow. Do you think the fuel these days has got a shorter shelf life than pre lead free stuff (like when it was 35p per gallon) For all you young uns, thats just under 5 litres!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Definitely a Nightingale in song, your lucky wish we had one here
  6. 5 months is a long time, you could end up replacing them all by then sorry to spoil your day

  14. I never used to but recent years I have. There's something in the water, more people suffer now than ever before, ok there are more people but so much crap in the air food & water moan over :-)
  15. "A friend of mine recently had a 026 stolen from site, a quick call, a stern physical telling off, 026 turned up not stolen anymore!" Some times it's the only way, the police havent a clue & one tool is like another. If they do catch the ba**%ds they let them off. there are more scrap vans around now than ever before, cheeky f*%%&$s even going into gardens taking scrap when no one is home!! Keep your eyes peeled boys and be like a virgin on a first date.... never let your guard down
  16. Spudulike What is the carb checking procedure you use out of interest
  17. I have used Recoil to repair threads on saws, very good and stronger than the original thread in most cases Alcoa Fastening Systems
  18. took my chain ONCE to a local dealer to sharpen as I was in a rush, every cutter had a burn mark from the grinder which took the temper out of the metal, after that I never went near an auto advance grinder again. Always use a file and never ever cut a finger, I sharpen all sorts of saws by hand & was taught by my grand father who used to do them for everyone for just a couple of shillings in them days. If in doubt, get a good file guide and the best files you can, cheap is just wasting your money. Personally I would stay away from the roller type of file guide but thats up to you. Maybe wear gloves too until your competent but not over so. good luck, practice-practice-practice
  19. Owls can nest almost any time and are much easier to inspect if in a nest box, maybe encourage clients to try a box or two, it does nothing for the open nesters which is what you mostly come across but if you show you care it does go a long way. Much better than the idiots turning up in a pickup saying we will do it for a tenner missus (then dump it all down the first lane or gate way they come across)!!
  20. Some people will do anything for a beer:001_tt2: Awesome Chainsaw SkillsVideo
  21. They said you can move a nest:confused1: I dont think so and if they did make sure you get that in writing. It is an offence to disturb any nest(used of course) or nesting birds so if I were you I would look into it more. Best people to ask I think would be the BTO, Welcome to the BTO | BTO - British Trust for Ornithology they can advise of issuse like this, but above all stay within the wildlife & countryside laws, if you do happen to get convicted it will be against you when you have to fill in future forms and we all know how tight it is getting. It could be the deciding factor in winning a contract or not. We have taken for granted so many birds and now finding the once common ones on a steep decline, sorry for the detailed moan but it is my passion:sneaky2: Very nice to see some sensible advice here and some have already stopped cutting, good on you boys.
  22. sounds familiar and this is why the big ones rulling us all with any fuel price they want to charge is winning. Because the smaller ones like Aspen cant get a start, not many wants to stock it in fear of not shifting the stuff, I am waiting for it to be available closer to me, I cant afford looking for the stuff for days on end. But when it is near me I will used it
  23. there are alternatives they dont want us to know, same with electric cars ! all they tell you is the battery dont last but they developed one and shelved it, because oil and the fat cats are much too powerful, robbing bastards:thumbup:
  24. BP garage are the most expensive in our area too, I wouldnt support them Dont be sucked into believing all this is because of Libya, they just use the excuse of the day. we have had banks, recessions, house price rises..... whatever is in the news on the day that is why oil prices go up. There are only a couple of winners and it's not us on this forum, they wear suits & dont get their hands dirty (at least with honest dirt) f@**ing crooks the lot of them
  25. yes sadly this goes on more than we know, I think if we used clear cans we would see more crap in there. The fuel changed every time I fill up and thats only the smell, trouble is they could sell us 50% water and there would still be rows of cars waiting to fill up I didnt get anywhere when I complained there was water in the fuel, like you said, they come back with it cant be the pump state of the art filters etc. They got us and we cant do a thing about it (or we just put up with prices for crap, must be the british way eh)
