  1. the sad part is if they were caught what would happen? Only last week I was driving past the river near us where the water board have been working, the 20t volvo dumper was parked up behind a 360 and I spotted a guy with a 25l drum. Turned the car around and parked and out popped two other guys with more cans, I rang the police and said if they send a car right now they will catch them with their hands full. 15 mins pased and no sign of police and they started loading the car, 7 drums all 25l each were loaded into a car along with 3 occupants and they drove off, I quickly took a pic with my phone and left myself. in the next village i seen two police on the beat and said i just reported a theft of diesel and now had a picture of the car. he got on his radio, told me police are at the scene now, I said they wont find them they drove off but if they looked they would smell fuel. The next comment left me a bit surprised to say the least. He said we got your details and if we need to will have the picture details, BUT so far no crime has been committed so their hands were tied. And they wonder why people dont bother to help? A mate of mine lost a strimmer and saw off his van, he was only yards away and even followed them, but didnt get his tools back as he couldnt prove anything. What world are we living in Grrrrr........
  2. looking very nice, the paint on my car is so soft grass leaves a scratch, total crap and not like it used to be.
  3. nice pics, roll on next spring when we will have a blue bell carpet again thanks for sharing
  4. nice looking job, very neat & tidy, before I read down I was going to say a kombi lol Yes we all been there, need more hours in the day and some big very well paid jobs but they are few and far these days so glad I on not as active. Just going to pm you a Q.
  5. What a tree, good work man & nice to see someone that cares. I was asked to remove a big Oak from a golf course years ago, when I asked about TPO he said cut it on the weekend he wasnt worried about that. I could have got more from the fire wood alone but decided this tree looked fine just where it stood and was there long before a golf course was put around it. The tree still stands (right in the line of fire lol) the original owner has died and the new owner has more respect. It's not all about money is it.
  6. so so true, H&S is getting way out of proportion I recently had to do a risk assessment for the FC, what a total load of bollocks that was:sneaky2: talk about making work for the men in suits sat at a desk. Get them out in the wind & rain & snow & ice:thumbup1: And everyone get back to like it used to be where you relied on your common sense. Stay safe:001_smile:
  7. Enjoy the wonderful sound of the bells when you can, as you grow older your hearing will start to go along with everything else and you will be glad to sit down and listen to bells and watch pretty girls walk by lol ok I must be old
  8. Sadly people just use them and abuse them & forget the basics like good maintenance. If it were me I would take the box apart, take the blades off give them a good check over and then sharpen and a good look in the box too. clean it all out and re-grease the lot. Why folk think they save but not spending a little time with some oil/grease I dont know. Maybe it is this throw away world we live in and some things are just not made to last two seasons like B&Q tools good luck I hope you can rescue it, let us know the outcome
  9. Good luck and take to out for yourself, rest after and as much as you would like to get back up a tree take your time. Listen to your body, we all loose the art of that in these days of chasing the £ Heath is far more important than £ All the very best to you & keep us posted ;-)
  10. truly awesome, I hope you dont mind me copying to show a mate wish I had that talent
  11. Time will tell, I still use a kawasaki hedge cutter over 15 years old now and never fails. Husky clearing saw & brush cutter would never change from them and Husky saws. Stihl blower/vac & stihl pole saw. Very happy with them and wont change unless I really have to, I know it makes sense to get new and is good business sense but new is not always best and I know my tools dont let me down. I dont need to spend a day chasing a break down & looking for spares
  12. Good advice, follow this and you wont go wrong. I never had trouble with a clearing saw blade, some people never learn or just dont care because it is not their machine, very annoying.... good luck
  13. looks like ebay took it off before the end, maybe we saved someone's life or limbs
  14. Never had a problem on my Husqvarna saws in over 20 years, I did have a problem with a bolt into plastic on a brushcutter. Right where the handles bracket fixes to rubber mountings! the place you need it strong and not a course thread into plastic but there we go, modern times and all that. Good maintenance and your bolts wont come out unless there is something wrong. My bolt into plastic was over tightened by a moron and now needs looking at :-(
  15. report it to ebay, it has 11 bids they must all be mental
  16. Old WoodChip

    Ax men!

yes me too, that aqua logging :-) how he lived this long I dont know or how his son havent wrapped a oar around his head lol
  17. great tool, you still got it? I only just seen this while looking around on a wet saturday morning
  18. ALL nesting birds are protected by law, stopping them building right through to youngsters fledging Take care boy's there are big fines and more eyes on nests than you will ever know:001_smile:
  19. Good luck, mine field is right. Years ago I had an old series 11a short wheel base Landrover (still in the shed) and had an MOT every year no problems, as soon as they made them (it is a 1968 one) road tax exempt it failed the MOT. Why? for not having a seat belt, this was never made with them so never needed them or so they kept telling me, when it failed the nice guy who always done her said "the ministry said it must have them fitted" he showed my the book where it said refer to section a part 2 etc etc bullshit etc.... we phoned dvla, went to see police asked other garages??? they didnt know. in the end I got two s/h bolt on seat belts that wouldnt do sod all in a bump anyway but it passed, and has since had a retired life under cover. I remember over 20 years ago a farmer friend towed a drot on a trailer with his tractor and got stopped by C&E he was advised by the NFU to pay the fine (2k then) or it would cost him more to take it on and he WOULD loose. Mine field it certainly is and one we have no hope of making any sense of. Good luck
  20. Eco logging at it's best, great to see and glad your keeping it going good luck
  21. chase up the council and see what they say? worth a phone call and maybe someone will come out and look
  22. I use one they are great saws, the heated handles dont work and been meaning to sort that for years but one day I will. This saw has been left some times for over a year and a few pulls more than normal has it going again, I love it and dont think I will part with it as long as I can keep it going, I dont need the newest model when I know this old saw will do all I ever ask of her, I have taken on big stuff with this that some would not tackle. Hope you get it sorted, I would give it a good clean out before a coil and seals but thats just me. Good luck
  23. I am not a marketing guru but wouldnt it make sense to be pushing the garden centres and the likes of B&Q who sell crap tools and oil, the public would welcome this fuel and it would make it much more available. not that I would support B&Q but you should sell more than you do at present. We all seem to want it but cant get the stuff unless it's in bulk
