  1. Russell brand no reason needed
  2. Would you want a big ugly van or lorry on your drive? I had my van on my drive for a bit done my head and really unsociable on my neighbours. Guess js depends on how big your drive is, i have a shared one
  3. My 11 tonner is with nfu 900£ use to have it with trust but they stopped truck insurance
  4. If it helps so far its cost me a days consultancy, a day of nptc assessments we had all Lolor and puwer in place already so I'm about £1200 in i think the assessment will cost me 500 odd quid and a lost day. Not a lot really
  5. I'm going through aaac at the moment, I've done every step but fill the form in for assessment. Get in a hs consultant who will show you how to manage doing Rams, Loler puwer better and if you employ staff, how you legally should be. We had some holes in what tickets we should have which grieves me a bit to have to plug but again we should legally have these it's just never occurred to me. Now all the paper work is in place I feel better prepared when I get to site and no longer have to squirm when asked for different paper work. we have better systems for staff management, ppe etc i have plenty of work now but have 4 on the books mouths to feed which stresses me a bit knowing loosing one client could cause a big hole in the diary so I want aaac to get more clients to spread work over. Ive personally always detested domestic work but I know some people love it and if that's your playground aaac is going to be pointless.
  6. Looks great that, i was almost tempted to buy that my self when i saw it on bay
  7. I'd look at what everyone else has, the most popular chipper I see is a tw230 must say something
  8. Personally I would like to see the whole commercial vehicle thing better regulated, perhaps a commercial licence type thing
  9. I'm a small company I don't earn much more have big contracts, or any contracts actually. I did my class one, about 2k i got my on licence 400 odd quid if I remember I bought a lorry for 10k less than I spent on a second hand transit I can't see how it's prohibitive. I personally think 7.5 tonners drivers in grandad rights are a absolute danger, I see them cutting up artics all day as they have no lane discipline on round abouts. I occationally tow my 3 tonner with my ford ranger, not sure I'd ever want to tow anything bigger with it and I live in the realativly flat Midlands. Tractors are destined for a farmer for short distances to bring his crop from the field to his shed on small roads it's only us arbs who abuse that with unimogs and use them as lorries
  10. Plenty of rogues with certs Depends on what you call a rogue, i left a tare cut once, some would say I'm a rogue maybe someone higher up the chain would think your a rogue? Do you run a overloaded van, you rogue you? Just worry about your own thing and not other people's
  11. That has just got me a bit excited
  12. Have you tired giving nick cope a call, he usually knows who has some I have a couple of artics of small diameter oak and ash in the wood, I, just waiting for a my forwarder purchase
  13. anvils are going to be the only thing
  14. i doubt you will be over your 2.5tonne limit for a 10x6
  15. how well minced and stomped will be considerations
  16. One I got shafted on was retention for site clearance. I jumped balls deep into a 20k site clearance and didn't read the purchase order, my fault at the time, we was flat out and reading stuff was something I didn't have time for. Invoiced got paid minus 5% until completion of stage 1 of the development. Whoops was all there in the print. They've still not finished it, I still made money on the job and I've gone on to do loads more work for said firm only now I read the purchase order. I'll get it one day and I can still afford to eat
  17. I find waiting 90days for payment with commercial is less hassle than having to go around collecting multiple cheques and cash from multiple domestic clients. I guess firms who do mostly commercial get a majority of work from a small pool of clients
  18. Most of our commercial is 90 days but you get use to it I usually have a look on company check for new clients, if they've not been trading long or lots of closed companies and jubious directors with defunct companies they don't get much credit and I usually stipulate payment on completion.
  19. The only time I care about being under cut is when you price for TM and see the local Gardner out with a few cones and barrier tape. It's hard to find enough time to worry about my own game let alone someone else's though
  20. I should really pop in next time I'm stumbling out of greggs, they look smart they do
  21. I would I'd also check vehicle insurance as a employer I'd never make a labour only Subby pay for damage caused in them carrying out there duty. Thats why I make profit they make wages, a bonefide Subby is a different thing
  22. Of your a labour only Subbie your essentially a employee your employer will have employers liability, if he's not he's a naughty boy
  23. Who did your remote conversion? We have been looking at this for ours but it seems like a big job, what functions does it have?
  24. I need to its the same old crap and supprising how much time you waste looking at rubbish. I get my social fix from Instagram, people genuinely interact, there's no sharing rubbish no community groups moaning about dog pig and the old, stupid and stay at home mums don't seem to have infrultrated.
