  4. We used a 40m strait stick to do a load of Tree Removals in Brixworth The wheel base was wider than the road closure so we had to have one wheel on the grass which was a bit twitchy

  10. It was told to me the vosa witch
  11. I'm going for this exception as we was going to a fallen tree, could have been a squirrel trapped in there Vehicles, including vehicles used in the non-commercial transport of humanitarian aid, used in emergencies or rescue operations. The EU rules do not define an ‘emergency’ but we consider this would certainly include any of the situations that would be considered an emergency for the purposes of the GB domestic drivers’ hours legislation, namely a situation where immediate preventative action is needed to avoid: danger to the life or health of people or animals serious interruption of essential public services (gas, water, electricity or drainage), of telecommunication and postal services, or in the use of roads, railways, ports or airports or serious damage to property Vehicles used in connection with emergency or rescue operations would be exempt from the EU rules for the duration of the emergency. The important aspect of humanitarian aid is that it only applies to transport carried out on a non-commercial basis e.g. transportation of donated clothes, food parcels etc. The aid supplied must however be in direct response to an emergency or rescue operation.
  12. apparently if your in a transit its a o'licence in my ranger i'm except as its duel purpose
  13. He seemed fine about the digger, the man who sold me it said it would be fine I will take it over a weigh bridge one day, hopefully at my own accord
  14. I guess I had the intent to commit, sucks I guess
  15. With the marking if you have a olicence you have traffic lights to the point where if your in the red you basically get stopped each time, you get a marker for failing a hgv mot
  16. In short outside of 100km you need a taco i came from kettering and got pulled at birch hanger services which is something 65ks from base. being honest and knowing if I was dick and caught fibbing I'd only get done on something else I told them, I was going Colchester which is 116 ks Had I been working at the services or near by I'd be legal, going to Colchester I was not. Also had digger and trailer impounded and had to pay for Lowloader to remove not a great day
  17. What whopper how big is that
  18. Got 300£ fine for planning to go outside of my 100km taco zone this week not happy morale of story never tell the truth to vosa
  19. That was £600 on a Saturday at short notice on the understanding it was job knock, we use that crane company quite often as we get to know the drivers. I find small company crane drivers are a lot more helpful than mewp drivers who seem. Ire concerned about there next tea break. Yer it spins all over shop when cutting to I used a bit of throw line and two carbeiners to attach the basket to the stem which will break if the worst happens.
  20. Crane and then drop in, think this bocker had 60m of reach and a bit more with a fly jib then as much drop as you like, fast up and down and you can get 360' around from one location. Was cheap to hire as well, much less than mewp firms to stop it spinning I used a soft link to attach basket to tree, Good day that
  21. If a tree was really dangerous I'm not sure I would want it to collapse on my mewp think I'd rather climb it and ride it down like a cowgirl or get a mewp to drop me in from the top from far enough away if it was really likely to crumble
  22. If I could justify it I'd have a nifty 17.5 meter tow, as there they are light to tow and easy to Manuvere, I find the track ones can be heavy to tow and we regually do a 1.5 hour commute. Most at of our work is siding back and clearing cameras which is a lot of up and down which would suck for a climber. The prob with mewp ownership is you never have the right one hence why we hire
  23. I heard a rumour wildside sometimes pay contractors now
