1. Femacs seem more poplar, I'd like one but can't really justify the 2.5k
2. One thing that tickles me a bit is when people say Emergency Call out. An apple tree across a garden is not a emergency its a job that ideally needs doing soon. A bus full of nuns trapped by a tree with rising tide is a emergency If you sting them they will wait drive around it and someone else will do it
3. No council near me has recommended contractors as the dont was to be liable for if they cock up or the means to accredit people Instead they point to aa
4. We have a agreement with a housing association where by we fix problems with out authorisation up to £400 and over that needs quoting and approval. I know that don't help but for a call out 3 man team transit would normally be 350
5. Or council approved contractor What council? How do they approve you, where can I find this information
6. Agree with this with my 3 tonner there's a sweet spot which is only a few inches from snaking into a ditch hell
7. What tippers will tow 3.5 tonne? Legally of course Our transit is used more of a tow tug than for chip these days but is a but borderline with our digger. The Isuzu is the only one i can find that will tow and second hand there rare Any help Thanks
8. I was booked up for 3 weeks last week so I took on a extra Subby I went on the tools as well to split gangs and used machinery where I could and we all smashed out some big days I've cleared the diary so I'm not sure what Im doing after weds now. I always know something will come in, most of our clients like that we can turn jobs round quick
9. I book one week at a time, im just sorting my diary out for next week I keep my diary flexible as a lot of our work is commercial i can guarantee on Monday I'll get a "can you do this by Friday" call

Ranger woes

Ford commercial dealers are the worst I guess the cars must sell them selves so there not really interested
12. If you have a big tree and want a smaller tree topping is the answer You top it again when it becomes a big tree again every ones a winner I have a similar thing going on with my lawn It's better than felling
13. FYI my 11tonner with grab is £900
14. Aviva stopped doing hgv special insurance I'm now with nfu
15. Thats per vehicle and trailer but any driver My old rac policy was suppose to be me any vehicle and trailer allegedly + camping and caravanning, they took camping caravan off with out telling me and also commercial vehicle. My personal car is still under ford warranty so that has breakdown included I doubt it covers trailers i will get a personal policy at some point
16. Shame they never told anyone about the change in policy, i took my policy out specifically for my transit and trailer Green flag do my trannie now £90
17. They did for me years ago but last week when I had a diesel issue when I gave them the reg they said sorry your policy don't cover commercials, And don't get me started on how they messed up my camping and caravan membership
18. I was sold Rac recovery and told it would cover my van, up to the point I needed it and was left at side of road. I now have a green flag commercial policy for van, Not sure what I'll do if lorry dies
19. Cut some holes in it, mine has loads and holds no water, or chip
20. Eddie do you still have that Kinshoffer grab for sale?
21. Them Pro Dem grabs are 3 times the cost of tigergrip So far i've not bent mine even picking up some sizable timber, I have to have tined as alot of what i do is chipper feeding and I hate demo grabs for brash feeding, there numb and smash up the brash to much This happened to my rotator but approved air freighted me out a new one super quick and upgraded me to a bigger one with no cost
22. The best things about fixed grabs is being able to turn brash vertically in tight spots for stacking or chipping, Also you can really ram it into brash heaps and grab stuff vertically and mallipulate branches better. The intermercato has loads of power too for breaking forks ready for the chipper. I did break my first rotator 221678
23. Your floppy hoses would annoy me I have to cable tie mine nice and tight in,
