  1. wonder what HP that is, looks a really nice machine. looks quite loike a Schliesing chipper.
  2. Now that is a nice clean setup indeed. Is that Wildtrack an Auto box ?
  3. shud be fine. On Rangers can ya shift from L to H 'on the fly' i wonder? If you can that would sooo useful when moving off on an incline with a load on or lugging a weighty trailer. On my antique Isuzu ya hafta stop to shift from L to H so i simply negotiate the incline in 2L then stop to briefly shift back into 2H. It's ideal fer reversing the chipper / Laden Ifor into my driveway or dealing with the steep hills i have to contend with where i live. God i love my truck.
  4. Here is mine. Had it built locally by an independent web design maid in Exeter. Best £500 i've spent in a long long time me tinks. Tree Surgeon in Exeter - Ken Hogan Tree Services
  5. Pinkers, there is a mod you can carry out to enable 2L on a Ranger as someone posted up details very recently on how to do it. I got the 2L option on my antique Isuzu by simply fitting manual free wheeling hubs up front.
  6. impressive lugging figgers indeed, i lug similar weight and sometimes more with my old Isuzu albeit illegally from time to time but it can take it. Yours a 3.0 TDCI? I've always loiked the look the look of the older Rangers.
  7. oooooh well remembered Eggs
  8. what year is your's Pinky ?
  9. sounds like 'the cat is out of the bag' on this one
  10. I love this 1/4 .43 setup. It is fiddly to sharpen but it only takes about 3 mins to do the whole 10 inch chain. It in my opinion is very safe to use and gives really clean cuts.
  11. Used a small Ferrari alpine tractor a few times recently. 40hp and amazingly good at towing my stuck transit and chipper out of the mud. It had a topper/mower attachment on the back but I'm not sure what udder attachments the owner had fer it. Used it cost £5.5k plus vat so quite cheap. I had a look at the engine and wasn't sure of the brand.
  12. RMac can ya post up a pic of yer home brewed skidding cone please?
  13. Hello m8, They cold called me too but like you all i did was check out their website. I do mainly domestic tree works with some commercial thrown in. I'll not bother chasing them up though.
  14. Hello HTC, Can anyone tell me why you would down rate a Transit 460 to a 350 when there are plenty of 3.5 tonners available on the market already or am i missing the point here, is there some advantage to doing this?
  15. I won quite a bit last year!
  16. yep was tinkin' the same.
  17. That ebay username 'nickmanchip' looks familiar. Thought it might be an Arbtalk username too but it don't show up on 'search'.
  18. SI engine?
  19. I run an old (1999) Crary Bearcat 8 inch chipper. It has a Kohler Command 25hp petrol enjun. While it is more expensive to fill up and only having a modest 25 ponies to play with it is also amazingly capable and does better than i ever expected. A busy day with alot of conifer chipping can cost me about £12-£18 in petrol. A 35 hp petrol engined chipper would be very good me tinks, however i stihl fancy having summit i can run on DERV and buying a Schliesing or a Jensen 540 at some point. For now i'm happy enuf.
  20. Pity you weren't looking in sept. as i sold my wee Greenmech fer £1,200. It's now earning it's keep up in Suffolk.
  21. liking the sound of that. Tink older Discoveries can legally lug 4.2 ton with this braking system fitted.
  22. LOL you filfy so & so ! surely you mean recurring nightmare?!
  23. ya Beau it smells fishy to me too...
  24. 3.0 or the 4.2 daddy?
  25. what veeeehickle do ya tow with ?
