  1. I'll ring chappers and ask for an update and report back. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. The stock saws are running an 'over stifled' muffler in my opinion, this combined with 3/8ths cutting gear makes ferra sluggish tool. Now does one simply cut open the muffler and 'de-cat' it, or do you also remove all of the baffling in a bid to make it free flow the zorst gasses or is there some back pressure required to broaden the spread of torque ? What say ye?
  3. well as of yet i haven't heard of or read anyting on social media regarding the 2511 being sent out yet. anyone else got any updated info ?
  4. mmmmm yep maybe i am running a bit to rich at 40:1. I wonder what the sweet spot is for Redline oil then? I tink oil (sic) revert to 50:1 like you guys. I too have read the blurb about running at anything up to 100:1 but i'm no brave enuf to be honest.
  5. I moved over to redline 2T oil last year and run all me saws, hedge trimmers, blowers etc on Redline now. I run at approx 40:1. The expense of it doesn't really bodder me that much. Tink Stubby runs Aspen 4 with Redline 2T oil which is $$$$$$
  6. as above i need a groundie for a few days. I can be flexible on which days though. You need a ground saw, PPE and experience. Tiverton / Exeter areas. £100 a day. Ken 0794 660 6093
  7. good post.
  8. True but a bit big and awkward. R Mac the BR350 is less than £300 here. https://www.radmoretucker.co.uk/category/Petrol_Blowers/?page=1
  9. so new crank for your's then? I'm not to impressed as this 560 of mine has not exactly done alot of work.
  10. TimberScutterDartmoor I tink you maybe roight there! These newer XP saws really need checking quite frequently as the zorst bolts, AV bolts, wrap around handle bolts, felling spike bolts always seem to work lose. Think I may remove some bolts and clean/degrease and apply a suitable thread locking solution inna bid to keep them in situ. R Mac, bout 1 year old now so maybe i shudda asked bout a warranty claim but I rang up and ordered and paid fer the parts over the phone as soon as i spotted the crack. Thanks SawTroll and Spudderz. Echo and Dolmar have to be more robust.
  11. Spotted this crack today. Apparently I gotta buy the whole clutch assembly, £30 or so. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Cheers Ste, I bought one too.
  13. Tanks R Mac, reckon I cud do with a bigger blower as i got 2 old handhelds and 1 smaller Echo backpack but i have a hankering fer summit with more power.
  14. The 280 is very disappointing indeed, it needs a de-cat and the rest of the muffler internals removing and retuned to suit. .42 cutting gear will no doubt help it along too.
  15. 2511 is due fer release today apparently. Just had a call confirming that.
  16. your a good egg Ste, thanks very much.
  17. Gotta link to the ones you bought Ste ?
  18. i got a fabricator chap i know. He can do this type of work, TIG welds alloy etc. He's built a few fish and chip vans so is well versed. If anyone wants his details PM me as oil not put his home number up on a public forum. Tank yew.
  19. True. The reasons yew have stated above are my guidelines fer buying kit be it saws, chippers, ropes etc. I like many udders run a 'dolly mixture setup' with saws/hedge trimmers/blowers from Stihl, Husky & Echo. A Dolmar will no doubt be joining the fleet at some point.
  20. good post R Mac. sorry folks i tell it like it is or how i find it. Would i buy anudder 360TES tomorrow? YES i would as it is a gr8 saw. Afore all you pros start harping on about amazing MS200T's and how they are the benchmark saw of all time....do you remember when they too had problems with substandard carbs? Alot of people jump on the bandwagon and rave on about the great saws of our recent past and the reality is some of those people have never even used one and simply listen to hearsay and regurgitate 'the hype'. The way things are going Echo and Dolmar will be the 'en vogue' brand to own within the next 3 years. I am an Echo fan, but if there are problems encountered with any of their products i will be the first to admit it.
  21. Good read this. Gunna hafta take a spin out to Chez Shavey one day and check out these saws.
  22. Pete, That is a horrible situation to be in. You will find that nobody will want to drive that particular truck for fear of breaking down.
