  5. Kevin, the Isuzu D-max which came on sale in about 2012 initially was plated to tow 3 ton (or was it 3.2ton?) they got plated to lug 3.5 ton in about 2013 and the only difference was the towbar was a different part number. This was an Isuzu salesman that told me this at the time.
  6. late 80's i was a lorry drivers mate, delivering coal, animal feeds etc all over Wicklow, Dublin, Wexford. Twas physically tough but very enjoyable as i was gr8 mates with the driver and we loved the whole idea of travelling about in his lorry admiring the stunning scenery (some of the time) and meeting noice country folk. I tried tree planting (sapling whips) on very rough, shale type steep ground and hated it as twas on piece rate and was mundane. Struggled to make £80per day. I was amazed at how tough it was considering I do tree work fer a living.

  17. My fuel spout lasted about a year b4 it started playing up so i started using the oil spout on the fuel side, alas this is now playing up too. Anyone know if you can dis-assemble them spouts and fix the issues ?? I also find the oil seems to somehow 'seep out' no matter how carefully you screw on the spout.

  21. R Mac, here is a link to some chat about them on Arbtalk's Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/128622575070/search/?query=capstan%20winch
  22. LOL what you've written above don't sound right to me either! It's the gearing etc that takes the 'full load', if 2T enjuns weren't up to 'full load' use then they wouldn't be so popular and wouldn't be used in......chainsaws:001_smile: I'll see if i can find that info on Facebook and link it to ya as it's relevant. Personally i wouldn't wanna be concerning myself about the motor tilting sideways and cutting out, as i'd just wanna get the job done. Think the one i'm raving on about has a better throttle control which drops the revs right back if you let go of the rope, thus not glazing it.
  23. Might be worth searching the Facebook tree surgery sites on this subject as i read some interesting points regarding your very question some months back. Basically some lad was saying he has done alot of work with a couple of those capstan winches and reckons he preferred the 2T (2 stroke) model over the 4 stroke as there was issues with the 4 stroker tilting over to one side and possibly starving the engine of oil. I'd really like one too but there is a 2 stroke variant that will tug 1800kg (straight pull) and 3600kg with a 2-1 advantage. Alot of money but this would be my choice. [ame] [/ame]
