  1. I'm pretty confident no 2 acer griseum not a prunus, serrula has shiny bark not the dry look on your pic, it also looks like a cherry
  2. Used to be able to ident lime species from a winter twig but not any more, not sure on the last one and those thorns don't look like there in 3's to me on the third.
  3. oh Robinia pseudoacacia
  4. Acer platanoides and acer griseum maybe.
  5. :blushing: Oops did see that thread, and it was in Hampton where someone else mentioned seeing one.
  6. Oh. He's the only one I know that's local, he must be full, don't know anywhere else I'm afraid.
  7. No luck with the link I sent ? You could try the windmill on Wimbledon common. They take it apparently
  8. Sent a message
  9. Can't help with clearing it but there's a yard in Mitcham that'll probably let you drop off if your stuck.
  10. I think the point is that it stops the helmet collapsing and doing its job properly, its like filling the crumple zone on a car up, the shock goes straight to the soft bits you're trying to protect.
  11. Looks like a bramble scratch to me
  12. Just round the corner from us too
  13. But if the stove is set up correctly and burning hot enough then surely the resins will all combust in the secondary burn ? You can ignite a resinous log with a match straight from the tree so why wouldn't they burn in a super efficient stove?
  14. Not a problem with adblock..
  15. The host tree is supposed to be the same as the parents I think and planting the seed under a little nick in the bark is best, now is the time too I believe
  16. There is a reason I left the stump so high, it will eventually have a table with benches around it, and a roof of sorts to shade the table area. (hence the ring of logs around the bottom...) I left a eucy stump in my garden for a splitting block and it was rotten and useless after a couple of years. I'd get it down and buy a table
  17. We have both and wouldn't recommend either tbh There's always a mad rush for the 550 at our yard in the morning, unfortunately we only have one
  18. :thumbup1:Yep Griselina not Laurel and yep if the fumes aren't going up the chimney you've probably got a problem whatever your burning.
  19. They won't issue the new units to replace the old without a retest but the original quals are valid for life, mine are still 19,20 and 21 I think. Refresher courses are only a recommendation but think I'd want someone to do one if they'd been off the tools for a while
  20. Well it would've been wasted on him all that delicious crispiness.
  21. One of our cats turned up once with a freshly cooked roast potato in his mush No idea where he got it but was delicious.
  22. Home made topping strop made from old lowering rope with a bowline and a rusty steel carabina:thumbup1: Did snap a few load ropes though. Them were the days...
  23. I used to when younger and fitter, just used to get on with it and get the job done. Did used to get incredibly dehydrated and go home with a throbbing headache every day though. Never worn type a's but probably should really, think I've only had one "oops that was close" moment so c's are overkill really
