  1. We had no luck at river lane last time, think it's changed owners or council have been on there case. Sent a pm old mill
  2. Not into the footie stuff myself but the rugger boys can't be too critical can they ? Eye gouging, raking, punching it all happens and as for all the manly dressing room and bar games that go on.
  3. We use this these, they don't have any on their list but can usually get to order Evergreen Exteriors Trade Plant Nursery
  4. We just engrave the company name on any suitably clear area, tried melting it on with a soldering iron too but the engraver was quicker.
  5. Yeah. My heart says coals but the convenience of it rules you can just pop out fire it up for bacon butties at the weekend no faffing about 10 minutes and there deliciously done.. Got this if I feel nostalgic though
  6. Always fancied the little charcoal maker you can get for it but it would just be another unused toy in the garage somewhere like the Kelly kettle
  7. Yep, got one but never got round to using it for cooking I'm afraid as the gas weber's far too convenient. Only really used as a fire pit at parties and festivals so has seen a few drunken nights in its time, the big disadvantage against a chiminea is the lack if chimney so the smoke normally ends up in your face or your tent but at least there's heat for everyone and not just the front. Needs to be oiled and stored undercover else it'll rust away I fear [ ATTACH]159695[/ATTACH] Here it is still on my drive after the latest street party
  8. Think the original pics a frisia btw.
  9. Don't think Gleditsia triacanthos sunburst has the nasty thorns, I'd go for that over a frisia any day, as they don't seem to have that nasty habit of dying prematurely.
  10. It surprises me some times how upset people on here get when a home owner wants to take a tree down on their property for whatever reason. How many of us have refused to remove a tree on moral grounds? I'm sure some have but I'd bet they've also removed perfectly healthy specimens with decades of potential to pay the bills. I can understand peoples frustrations in some cases but a 15 ft yew?

    Uniforms

Well I picked em up today, went for a bright colour so ground staff can be spotted easier from the tree, am a bit undecided tbh how professional they look but at least everyone's in the same thing and they're printed so we don't look like a bunch of rag tag mercenaries. Def a lot cooler and I suppose there's an extra six inches of arm to scratch but will see how they go ..

    Uniforms

I'm a bit surprised people are so anti vests and think the public have such a negative view of them, What about tatoos, piercings even facial stubble ? My old man allways tells me to get rid of the face fungus as he calls it whereas I dont think he'd blink if I wore a vest.

Kinda how I feel about vests tbh, I wouldn't consider wearing one out of work but if it's a hot day and makes it more comfortable why not? What do people think goes through clients heads "Well they did a great job with my trees and cleared up so well you wouldnt know they've been but they were wearing vest's so wont be using them again"

Yeah, we've got hi vis polo's but they're dogpoo in the comfort dept and the boys wear vests underneath then take the polo's off 1st opportunity. Will have to look see if yours are better. Have ordered some bright printed vests, will see how that goes

    Uniforms

Just would like people's opinion on a couple of points pls. 1. Are wife beaters (vests) acceptable as part of a uniform ? 2. Should ground staff be wearing hi vis at all times or just when on roads ? Ta
  19. Think you can buy opium Poppy's for " flower arranging" too if you fancy expanding.
  20. Gonna go against the grain here and say ours rarely comes out the container now, most of our work is smallish gardens with tight access and it tends to be more trouble than its worth, on top of that we often struggle to get in on our already overloaded transit at the end of the day. Long drags with good access are where they come into their own and we'd never get rid of it but it doesnt get as much use as expected. If they made a narrower and lighter version just for brush it might suit us better, its just too bulky and heavy.
  21. I wonder how so many of us were under the impression owner ship could not be split. I was definitely taught that at merrist wood in the mid90's.
  22. Aralia spinosa ere we iz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aralia_spinosa:001_smile:
  23. Think its called devils walking stick to some, no idea of botanical name.
  24. Sycamore's Acer pseudoplatanus to us not platanus spp.
