Expensive for what it is. Daisy chain or stow in a bag as you already do, have you tried a small prussic or similar beside your rope bag to stop it pulling out, can be just some light accessory cord.

Anyone looking for an Alaskan mill for up to 3ft near Stoke on Trent, there is one for sale on gumtree at the moment, cheap as chips £30. Nothing to do with me just noticed it on there.
