  7. From what I've read it's nothing to do with what sort of roof is on the conservatory. The solid roofs can weigh three times that of poly roofs. It's more about the integrity of the walls and footings also heat loss through SAP (I got lost reading this bit). I belive some councils also want soil tests doing. Or have I got it all wrong again? Dont think your far off the mark there Eggs
  8. No was in suffolk from 86 to 2001 staying in wyverstone. Did trialing with suffolk 4wd club, AWDC and Dereks informal group at Bures pit, those were good old days nice severe tests. quite often down in Suffolk at inlaws about 3 times a year in Bury St Edmunds, wife is down there now due back on wed. I knew andy collins brother keith and father well, when i was down there
  9. Bures pit that brings back memories from the late 90's
  10. Euroforest - Home Mead Ho, Farnham GU10 5HY 01420 23030
  11. SBK or Flail 2. Flail2 is for use in grassland and controls nettles and other woody plants so you would need to be careful near your trees
  12. Roundup not the best for nettles as leaves a vacumn and nature abhorres a vacumn
  13. Dont cut it down short, down to 6" if you have too and remove cuttings before treating or you will shield the target. If you cut it too low you will have to let it regrow as again no target
  14. Aye done that on father in laws drive, works well
  15. Ditto Huntly accident closed A96 near the Glens. Nowhere near 16 degrees at lunchtime today closer to 6
  16. Most diy stores will stock Round up as a concentrate to be diluted prior to use or as a RTU ready to use formulation. Some will come with their own spray applicator some will not, depends if you have access to a sprayer. Most of the sprayers will have a hollow cone type nozzle and are prone to drift so be careful of adjacent lawns and non target plants you want to retain (roses are particularly susceptable).
  17. Roundup or one its generic equivalents
  18. htb

    Distel

Try knot guide at the top of the page, maybe need a longer E2E or different manufacturer
  19. Not a problem, yes we all need to keep up to date whether trees or spraying.
  20. Ah up to date with current regs as full NROSO reg for tractor spraying (Boom/Airblast/slug pelleting etc) each year
  21. Make a gell stick. Bit like a marker pen pulled apart take ink out and fill up with roundup (straight or 50/50). works like a weedwiper just dab the weeds to remove, no drips etc, can work it on weeds growing in the crowns of retained plants. Hope this makes sense
  22. Should it not have been the other way round. So thats what trip to Derby was for.
  23. they last for life. I spray about 1200 sites per year keeps me going for about 2 mths if all done at once. On a fixed price per site from postage stamp size to1 1/2 acres. You win on some not on others but averages out.
