  2. If I remember the one it was going pretty cheap too...
  3. The cedar probably has Botryosphaeria dieback, which is why it has brown areas appearing across the tree. It is a fungus that effects many trees when they are under stress....Botryosphaeria fungi are typically opportunistic pathogens. Opportunistic pathogens only cause disease on plants that are stressed. Therefore, avoiding plant stress, which predisposes plant tissue to infection and colonization by this fungal group, is the best strategy to prevent Botryosphaeria disease problems. It is important to remember that under optimal growing conditions, trees and shrubs are typically able to resist infection and colonization by Botryosphaeria fungi. Basically, the tree needs lots of water, but that is not always so practical to arrange!
  4. Climbing on it was the least of my worries.....they nicked the lot over a weekend!
  5. These five planes were deadwooded a few months ago from a MEWP and there was a large pile of branches to reflect that. I'll be going back out to Austria with a BigShot in the bag to have a closer look from higher up! Binoculars just don't work so well!
  6. I know I'm opening a can of worms here, since these Planes are mature (over 2m in diameter at the base)... The Planes are heavily affected by the Sycamore leaf miner (Lithocolletis platani), Sycamore Anthracnose caused by Apiognomonia veneta and Massaria Platani. I don't think any of these pests or diseases are going to kill the trees. The first two cause many of the leaves to drop off early and Massaria causes branch dieback. The trees are in a park in Austria. I would recommend removing the infected leaves and branch ends during the dormant season to also remove the leaf miner and anthracnose with them. The Massaria can be monitored and further branches removed as and when. On mature trees this gets close to pollarding and hense the can of worms.... Felling mature trees for a pest and disease that won't ultimately kill the tree is certainly not ideal. I am interested to hear what you would suggest?
  7. Put the address into Google Maps and use their Street View and that will show you what the tree looked like before....

  10. It is a very good burning wood once dry.
  11. Prune when dormant or in late summer to promote growth. You can prune at anytime of year for H&S or if there are badly diseased branches to stop it spreading. Try to avoid heavy pruning though.
  12. Its a well known scam. Avoid obviously!
  13. I use Clothes2Order T Shirt Printing, Embroidered Polo Shirts, Printed T Shirts
  14. Apparently it makes roughly the same amount of noise as my 660 if you look at Stihls 'Sound Power Level' figures... I thought they'd be much quieter than that!
  15. The big wheel and drawbar kit for the A12 splitter would be great for you I think....I don't know if it fits the A11V though. I've asked Jim as it would help me move mine in and out of the shed.
  16. I had this recently when doing a job for a friend of my dad's for half price; which just about covered my costs. He rang after the job was done and asked me when I was coming back to split the rings into firewood. No thank you! Won't do mates rates after that...

  19. If you are dealing with Russia and they only have a hotmail email address you'll be barking mad to go through with this. You always need to know exactly who you are dealing with otherwise it'll probably be a scam. Russia is notorious for these scams and for sending fake shipping documents to get people to part with money. You need to be able to verify everything is genuine and without speaking Russian that will be hard....and you need to be able to deal direct with a known official company. There is someone of this name claiming to be working in Logistics for Porsche Russia, but that isn't confirmed. My advice is to be very, very careful and do not part with any money at all until something arrives into your yard, should you go ahead with it.
  20. They are very good machines, but could do with a faster ram....
