  1. A cabstar is a great little arbtruck! I have a chip box and toolbox on the back of mine and it does most jobs. It's not an off roader so don't pull onto some wet grass! Useful trucks though. Great turning circle compared to the 110!
  2. Put a tracker on the new chipper.... Any expense of a tracker is minimal compared to the extra expenses of dealing with the insurance, waiting for a new machine or replacing an old one. I had a truck stolen without one and I have regretted it ever since.
  3. I think its supposed to be 90-100ft high. That is what is says in the owners press release. I thought maybe they wanted to say 28m and its a typo.
  4. I had a clonk as I drove off on my 110 or changed gear and was told its either the A frame ball joint or maybe even the rear half shafts/flanges. The rear diff was unlikely on the Salisbury axle as its usually bomb proof. On checking further it turned out to be a worn transfer box, so that was replaced together with the gearbox where the gears were a bit loose. It was only £300 all in and solved the problem.
  5. BBC News - Popular 'champion' tree cut down I wouldn't want to carry away all that timber!
  6. Cheap security measures don't work at all. We always chain our chipper to the van on site. You should really get a good tracker fitted too.
  7. Looks good! Where is the tool box going?
  8. I do the same thing to check my chipper lights are working on cold days.
  9. I'd agree! I am currently doing it the other way round. I bought an old 200Tdi 110 and am fixing it up ready to put a tipper on it. Right now I wish I'd saved myself a lot of trouble and just bought one in good nick like this! Then some other poor chap would have spent their money on it getting it right for me to enjoy!
  10. A bigshot really helps on the big ones...
  11. Looks like a beefed up Mini to me...
  12. I was thinking the same thing about felling it in one go. But as you were there and I can't see the whole site area...
  13. Could be useful for some of those long drags...
  14. Trust for Plant and Tools, Vehicles and Liability.
  15. This bag is only 0.20 cbm. Treemon your 'cube' bag sounds like it is a builders bag of 0.60cbm. Not all of the white builders bags are the same and that confuses the hell of out most customers!
  16. I drove one of the ex MOD ones a few days ago and I liked it. Low mileage, very good condition, 4x4 and Diff lock, so you shouldn't get it stuck. Certainly thought about putting a chip box on the back! We've got to keep it legal and most 3.5t's push that most days. I'd prefer to have a MOG and be able to mount the chipper on the back/front.
  17. Eagle

    Insane.

A new way down from a Wellingtonia?
  18. And there's me fixing up an old Land Rover 110.... I'm so out of touch!
  19. Have you tried a row of those Arb trolleys under each log?
  20. I like the idea of a big table and the conveyor, but I think it is too low. Ideally the table would be higher. I'd still like something like this if it was hydraulic with the build quality of the Riko A11. Must be built like a rock otherwise it will bend and break!
  21. No. It was for a land owner. There is another 3 hectares of clearance work for this February to do. Brrrrr....
  22. £20 / week.... I'd bite his hand off!
