  1. I just had my 12 year old Lab put to sleep so I know how you feel. I hope your sadness soon turns to joy. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. A freehand mini grinder Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Going bankrupt for £5k! I think he is insane! Get him down to his local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). They will help him put together a financial statement and make an offer to his creditor on his behalf. They should take that much more seriously and any court would / should accept that proposal if backed by a financial statement. He should get a meeting with the CAB ASAP and then write to his creditor informing them that he is taking advice from them. Basically get free advice... Don't waste money paying if you don't have any. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. They say at the bottom of their site that they area division of Bag Supplies. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. I use Aspen in all my saws now, including 200T's & 201T's. I switched fuel. I didn't run Aspen in saws from new. It took me a while getting the tuning right, but once I got there it was worth it. It's expensive compared to petrol, but I think it's worth it! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Eagle

    Caught him!

When I found the scum who nicked my stuff, there was a witness and some of my stuff was outside their door. So I told the plod that I knew where they lived. They refused to go round, so I said I would go round there and it was on their heads if anything was to happened to me or them. The police then turned up at my door straight away to stop an assault and wouldn't go on from me to their thiefs house. They only went round two days later at 10pm and told me they didn't want to wake the poor sods up as the lights were out! I had to push the police to do anything. Same thing happened when my truck was stolen. I say push the police to do something and quickly. Hassle them and they will do it eventually, but stay on their case.
  7. 20" on my 660. Works a treat! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. You don't have to untie your saw completely. You can tie your saw onto the branch / stem that you are cutting - on the right side of the cut of course :-)
  9. Stoves burn most efficient at full blast; thats why people want to use a back boiler so that they can store the excess heat for use later or directly in radiators, hot water etc. The stove above is a gassification stove.
  10. Another vote for Griffin here! Works well, but its bulky and hard to get out of a normal pocket unless its lined with sawdust. It unclips very quickly though as has been said.
  11. They are good. Its all about picture quality! The police won't be interested in low quality images. Wildlife Surveillance | Uttings.co.uk
  12. If you put the chipper on the back of the truck you could take a full trailer load of chip - roughly double what most small trucks can carry, but each time you reverse into the clients narrow drive, you will have to carry the branches around the trailer to chip back into it. Plus the height issue. There is a reason why it hasn't taken off.
  13. Anything to save energy on a long haul up a big tree is going to be on my list! We send saws up and down all day long, so why not send it back down if you don't need it with you once at the top.
  14. And hedgehogs too. I cleared an overgrown garden covered in brambles with a metal disc strimmer. Its only when I'd removed most of this did I find the hedgehogs nesting underneath. Left them in peace after that...not pieces!
  15. Some of their text on the website: The environmentally friendly 90hp, Tier 3 Interim 4 engine coupled with a top road speed of 40km hour and an impressive towing capacity of 3.0t guarantee a powerful performance for productive operations. The Multihog MH90 has the capability of carrying 2000kgs on the front, 2000kgs on the rear whilst towing 3000kgs all at the same time. The ultra low operating ground pressure of less than 10psi per wheel and the hydraulic flow of 120l per min @ 220bar opens the door to an extremely wide range of attachments. Sounds good! It has a bigger engine than the Cabstar!
  16. Get a Riko A11V on a trailer....simples!
  17. You can bench test the starter off the truck with a battery. Sometimes they get sticky. I tried many reconditioned ones and it only caused me problems. Best put a new one in as you don't want to breakdown on site! You'll only be worrying about it.
  18. I use a wirecore. I have both, but I don't get the rope strop out much these days.
  19. If he can avoid cutting it down I would do everything possible to save it.
  20. Don't waste any more time trying to move it or cut it up. Start a fire and burn it slowly. If you're in the states you can blow it up ;-)!
  21. I used a 660 with a 20" bar for my first stint in the forest.
  22. I saw a MEWP in Vienna with a 103m reach!
