  1. Couldn't be better,24 degrees, few clouds in the bright blue sky, slight cool breeze. A beautiful day to throw yourself round a few trees. Jake:thumbup1:
  2. It's a beautiful spring day in Melbourne. Only a cozy 20 degrees but getting warmer:laugh1: Jake:thumbup1:
  3. The sugar solution has had fantastic results.however should only be used as a last result, ppl do not yet know if it improves the tree because the tree can take up sugar and skip a phase I.e photosynthesis, means the sugar can be used strait away or the other theory is that it improves soil condition like more mycorrhizae in the ground thus improving the trees roots and water and nutrient uptake. Like I said a last resort but I think this is a definite urgent case. And it can't hurt to try and save the tree, plus it should really piss the residents off too.maybe a month or two after the repeated sugar treatments mulching could be done to further help the soil and tree. Hope this goes well Jake:thumbup1:
  4. Hey guys.interested in what you guys think of the new rw. Thinking of getting the new one(primarily because it's red) but want to know if it's that much better?at the end of the day it serves no other purpose but not much more could have been changed I suppose.slightly annoyed no clip for LOTS was added tho, thought that was on everyone's mind for improvement Stay safe Jake:thumbup1:
  5. Also I remember that tree on your profile picture.

  6. I'm good thanks.oz is awesome doing some real decent tree work and it's soooooo much better than council work.on my first week I had a 044'066 and a 088 up the tree with me and my arms were knackered. Having a real good time with the kit though,we operate a a 16 inch chipper and bobcat for logs,I gotta pay rise already and the works pretty easy. Not missing home yet. How are you doing for work now m8?take it steady, jake

  7. Seen it done but looks very unnatural, why not do an end weight reduction with a thin, you get the same desired effect without affecting the shape to much Jake:thumbup1:
  8. How does it affect the trees? Jake:thumbup1:
  9. So what your saying tony is that for a fruiting bodie to appear there must be two invasions of disease to meet and reproduce,or have I read this wrong? Jake:thumbup1:
  10. Think it's going to depend on how much the course costs.ive done a few insurance jobs but not a huge demand of work for you I wouldn't of thought. Biggest trend seems to be 5837 at the moment. If course isn't that expensive it def something to add to the website though. Also mite depend how urban/rural ur based. Jake:thumbup1:

  15. Thanks for the info guys, been really helpful. Was the rotivator to break up the compacted soil or to remove the top layer of turf.if so couldnt a spade just do this to reduce the risk of severed roots. Jake:thumbup1:
  16. Ah okay of course it rots down.feel like a tw@t now. i was thinkin of air not reaching the roots. Also buy mulching the area around the tree, i know its good for the tree but why specificaly. cheers Jake:thumbup1:

  21. What makes them so good and different from other bars Jake:thumbup1:
  22. i mean this with the greatest respect but grow a pair and pull yourself back up.its quicker and easier. less set up time. start with the hand ascender technique but gradually build up the muscle and confidence to pull yourself back in. only if the branch is flowing towards the ground i MITE use the ascender but usually i take a controlled swing towards the trunk. as its alot easier to ascend the rope than a near veritcal branch when using srt If all else fails a redirect is also very usefull stay safe Jake:thumbup1:
  23. Is that beef steak fungus?!!!! Jake:thumbup1:
