  1. Been working on the British and Irish lions training ground this week. Watched some intensive training before they thrashed the Melbourne Rebels. Jake:thumbup1:
  2. Same as any other final anchor regarding a krab but with a mailon. I use alpine butterfly choked with a mailon because I don't like the way the kray sits against the trunk with potential cross loading forces. Mailon is cheaper and has a higher s.w.l Jake:thumbup1:
  3. 2x slings with krabs Pantin Small krab for pantin hole Neck loop for advancing hitch. Hand as sender occasionally like old mill Mailon for final anchor if not base tied Jake
  4. A) I'm not much of a looker and b) that's what the missus asks for:001_tt2: Jake:thumbdown:
  5. Sorry,I'm on a iPad so it's one pic at a time Jake:thumbup1:
  6. Playing with bees, kinda make look like an astronaut Jake:thumbup1:
  7. He means like a tree puts on prolific growth when it's heavily pruned,it 'panics'. The decease is finding an end to it's food source therefore sending out multiple brackets too produce more spores and ensure its existence on this panet.i believe it's called panick fruitification but don't quote me on that. Jake:thumbup1:
  8. In all fairness,I was a member on that forum and it had some really, really good information and fact sheets. However also came with a lot of bad, isn't that the same as most forums. Arbtalk is great but a few minors try and ruin it. Jake:thumbup1:
  9. Same here........really gutted actually.had a nice spready plane to clean out yesterday and borrowed the sj I sold.im now in the process of buying a new one, plus a swivel to try and sort the deflection issue.had a go on a uni and as dan said.youll spend a lot more on underwear.....leathal things.wasnt for me but have seen good climbers on them.i probably could have got used to it if I had it for long enough but it didn't light my fire too want too give it a chance. Jake:thumbup1:
  10. Hi Tom,any chance of sending me a link of how too do the ISA cert in Australia. Obviously there is no oozy chapter so didnt think it was possible. Cheers Jake:thumbup1:
  11. Been in a 25 metre bucket today in 35degree heat wearing a bee suit. It was frigging boiling but we couldn't open the hood as there were storms of bees so to drink we had too throw water through the mesh open you mouth and hope for the best, got photos but on a different camera I'm afraid.spec was to remove 40% of height and sides but leave a habitat stick. Jake:thumbup1:
  12. If you can't stand the heat..........then get out the kitchen Jake:thumbup1:
  13. Same, that's where I learnt too climb.not a bad place too spend an evening or 2'as long as you don't go outside by yourself in the dark:blushing: Jake:thumbup1:
  14. Which is fine but that way can be done with a secure crab on the end of the rope.i understand it's unlikely to unhook itself but still poses a greater risk than a crab IMO. Jake:thumbup1:
  15. Well I think you need to think about taking off the branches and lowering them.it would be a P.I.T.A too take off just to snatch the logs.it need stooge versatile enough to use in both applications but that's exactly why I wouldn't use it.the slack on that scares me. Jake:thumbup1:
  16. My thoughts exactly,to much potential for error, seconds saved does not out way possible damage caused Jake:thumbup1:
  17. I think he meant too say bull rope, type of 16mm lower line. Jake:thumbup1:
  18. New rigging connector by Sherril, not sure if I like the look of it,would be okay on a taught line but wouldn't trust it in a dropping scenario. And wouldn't want too swap a connector every time I'm in a different position. What do you think? BackBone Knotless Rigging Connector by SherrillTree : Sherrillltree. Jake:thumbup1:
  19. Done, would be. Interested in the results when your finished tho. Jake
  20. Had them shut a tree work site down 5 years ago as they said the site was too heavily pedestrianised and should be done on a Sunday. No problems as it worked out too be double time:thumbup: Jake:thumbup1:
  21. Now that's a very good point, although probably the right thing to do,best practise won't recognise the work method. Jake:thumbup1:
  22. I don't think any one called stay on the stem if they wanted too, there's not a flip line on the market that would be long enough too accommodate there cojonas!!!! Jake:thumbup1:
  23. If he doesn't want too work in no because of winter not sure if Canada will float his boat,I'd go in a jiffy though. Jake:thumbup1:
  24. The whole point was an experiment,no-one knew what was going too happen and the workshop had in depths conversations giving there reasons why it would hold or fail. Jake:thumbup1:
