  1. Any where in particular? Jake:thumbup1:
  2. Just realised what you did there...........cheeky:001_tt2: I like it Jake:thumbup1:
  3. Sorry I can't help you but I can't upload more than one photo at a time from the iPad. If you. Upload it it doesn't appear on txt screen but when you post it's in the thread.make sense? Jake:thumbup1:
  4. That's cool.thanks for answering my questions,I'm not a boss just a climber so just giving my 2 cents(not that it's worth anything:biggrin:) I just know I would love to be accredited by a org(Australia doesn't have an isa chapter) for the work that I do.not the company taking credit for the work I do.i think it should be a two way street. Jake:thumbup1:
  5. I hear turkeys delightful:lol::lol:
  6. WOW.glad to see you survived then. keep us posted on your recovery(and a picture of the moon boot:biggrin:) and the smoking challenge. Jake:thumbup1:
  7. Okay that is a very valid point I have not thought of.but then you could also argue putting lives and property at risk if the job is not done properly or safely. Insurance premiums could be cut down and a blanket guide could be followed.i know that the b.s isin place but that doesn't cover other things.i.e yard storage blah blah blah. You know what kinda talking us elf out of this argument:blushing: Jake:thumbup1:
  8. Ah okay!just thought I'd clarify.
  9. Minor details.....bring on the tools:lol: Jake:thumbup1:
  10. I would def recommend the dismantling ticket(I think it's 41) was the best I did and info on the course was extremely useful.medium fells training was good but unfortunately was unable to do assessment.i guess your main one is to get the cert arb under yer seeing as you started it? Jake:thumbup1:
  11. Do you think an approved arborist could be the way forward.at least 1 must be on site and he/she is in charge of work or audits. Approved arborist like the ISA but cheaper and not so demanding.i like the ISA system but if everyone needed it I doubt 50% will pass(based on knowledge not work). To be a plumber I think you must be corgi registered so to work with trees you must be arb approved.what do ya think? Hopefully Paul will be along soon. Jake:thumbup1:
  12. What courses you thinking of mr D Jake:thumbup1:
  13. Gateau?
  14. :confused1:sorry to hear of your fall:thumbdown:are you hurt bad. How are going about your goal.will power alone? Jake:thumbup1:
  15. What's going on with the rigging thread Adam. Jake:thumbup1:
  16. What's the course?
  17. Absolutely has its place but what I'm saying its not practised enough,so when my crew get round to it,the system is slow and everyone is new to it.a bit like when you first startclimbing.you only get better with practice.i know about gear intensifying but it can also be done simples.but that's my goal, explore all the options and run a tighter ship if you know what I mean.my rigging is pretty neat and tidy and speed lining I just have not done enough of. Jake:thumbup1:
  18. So the new year is almost upon us and every year we make a big song and dance about what will be different this year but how many of us really go through with it. Well that's about to change people, here you can record what your resolution will be and your progress can also be recorded. We can also post questions for others to answer if needed.remember it doesn't have to be tree related, lets help each other. Ill start,I'd like to think that I'm a good work climber(not a comp climber) I can get the job done and am always called upon to do the tricky jobs.i don't really come across hard jobs anymore but jobs that just take time to do it properly.well I want to build on my rigging skills and get more techniques down.im mainly talkin speed lining, done a few times but was a little slow.this year I'm going to practise when ever the job suits(even if it saves a drag) and turn it from awkward and slow to an art. Ill post my progress with you guys. Jake:thumbup1:
  19. Loving the heat at themo.not too bad when working just slow the pace a touch.working for a very good company,ArborCo.they have a very good outlook on trees and treat staff very well indeed.which is a bonus nowadays. Jake:thumbup1:
  20. I'm in Mt Martha near Mornington on the peninsula.dandenong is lush(that's the Bristolian coming out in me) we were driving for around 7 hours and the sights never became boring.didnt want to come home. Jake:thumbup1:
  21. So is your foot not slightly twisted when ascending, uncomfortable? Jake:thumbup1:
  22. Ahhhhhh! Thanks a bunch silky.was a awesome drive through the dandenong ranges.as you said BIG eucs. Jake
  23. Okay, nice one.have to give it another go with srt takedowns I think.also I have the same boots as you,do you find the pantin slipping off where the boots are so wide and the thread slips out the bottom or comes loose to the point of not Woking.been foot locking lately during sort and my abs are taking a right beating. Jake:thumbup1:
  24. Yeh was old chain marks.aparantly the lump has been their for around 40 years, doesn't sound too impressive but has survived 2 bush fires.one tough log Jake
  25. So does the pantin fit directly on the bar of the spikes or just too the side. Jake:thumbup1:
