We are looking for a part time groundie. Must have cs38. Clean driving licence, trailer licence would be great. There might be an opportunity this position to go full time paye. Usual groundie duties, with the addition of driving the truck and chipper at times if you are old enough to be feasibly insured on the truck..... Working as part of a 2 or 3 man team depending on the job. We do all the usual stuff, trees, hedges, stumps and logs with the occasional swing / climbing frame thrown into the mix. Johns Tree Services has a vacancy for a lead climber. We are looking for an experienced arborist, the criteria we require is listed below: Able to perform reductions on all sizes of tree to a high standard, with a good knowledge of arboricultural princliples. Be confident with the use of rigging. Hedge cutting. Be qualified up to at least cs39 and cs41 is desirable. Clean driving license, preferably able to tow over 750kg. Must be able to present yourself in a friendly and professional manner to our customers, with have the ability to lead a team and work site. This is offered on a sub contract basis to start with, either for a few days a week or possibly full time. After the trial period a PAYE position with salary and benefits would be offered if successful. This is not just a position for a climber you need to be a team player, you will be required to help ground staff once climbing duties are done or when the second climber is doing the climbing. You will also be required to help with yard duties such as logging and bonfires etc, this is mainly on days when we can't go out because of the weather. We are a small business run by my wife and myself. We are based in Crowborough in East Sussex. We currently run 1 team of 3 with subcontractors coming in on occasions. A client of mine has a lovely mature magnolia with a spread of about 5m and height of about 4 or 5. It is 13feet away form his house, one of his insurance stipulations is that it be pruned back every 3 years. I have reduced it once before and its come back very well. However its time to do it again but he wants it done more drasticaly this time. The shape of the tree lends its self to pollarding but im scared that it may kill it, which would be REALLY bad. Any advice out there, also am i too late to prune it now as it seems late summer is a good time as they are slow healers.

I came across this chap on an oak tree that leans over a rather expensive looking out building, pic 1 shows a red fungus that looks a bit like some very poorly testicles, its formed about 6ft up the stem above a hole. On the other side of the tree on the butress there is an hole developing. Covering this hole there was what looked like spiders web covered in a brown/orange dust, it stank when prodded. The crown of the tree looks very thin and there are several holes all over. Any ideas what it may be?

Does anybody use 'qype' as a means of advertising. I have a meeting with a qype agent on wednesday and want to know if they are any good or another usless bunch of charlatans. Over the years I have grown weary of advertising sales people and want to be forwarned before they hit me with lots of meaningless figures. I am well up for internet advertising but want to spend my cash wisely Cheers!
