  1. dont know if the very basic comparison chart i just attached will work but its with data taken from manufacturers sites. shows not a huge difference in all three saws unless i have missed something hugely obvious. i suck at deciding stuff to buy comparison chart.doc
  2. The 372 sure looks good on price, is it as quick as the other two? My only experiance of big saw is 20 mins on the 441 so not really a lot of comparison time Wonder if spudulike is on tonight, see what he has to say on typical faults etc.
  3. So its looking like time to buy a new saw to replace the old 266 i sold. Been looking around for ages and couldnt narrow down at all until i had a shot of a ms441 on at least a 24 inch bar last week. So thats convinced me i dont need anything bigger than low 70cc mark as i only plan to run a 20 inch bar max. Currently have a 357 on a 15 inch so ok there. So i think its narrowed down to a husky 576 or stihl ms441. To be a low use per year firewood saw and occasional windblow at work. My local husky dealer is good, local stihl never use much so cant comment fairly just know he has issue with saws not bought from him. So aside from usual stihl/husky comments looking for user reviews please, or somebody to suggest something else for me. Cheers David
  4. definetly the temperature in this area, fully 30 degrees warmer than it was last year. This time last year we were halfway through our own log shed, barely made a dent so far.
  5. Happy chrismas to everyone, hope you all have a good day
  6. My brother used to work in an office where the coffee machine was next to desk, he managed 20 cups a day and still slept like a baby. Cutting down to under 10 a day made his sicker than any drink binge he had been on. I drink 6 a day, maybe 7 at most and thats plenty, would hate to give up cause the withdrawls scare me.
  7. Never had a xmas bonus off where i work, and this year they didnt hold the xmas party ( food and a glass of wine).
  8. Can recommend Ron clouse (my spelling sucks so if anyone knows right spelling please let me know) in Fochabers. Excellent guy.
  9. Hey Lee, Got your e mail, you guys cover a fair area by sounds of it. Looks like you and the patersons overlap quite a bit in coverage. Always good to know of another firm in area. Davie
  10. Hey Lee, Where about you guys based? David
  11. dont know if theres a member on here or not but i can recommend kenny and ian paterson in lumphanan. find them on google under sooty sweep i think.
  12. just messaged yvonne at clarks to confirm its ok to have them mail out, any probs and i will post up here. They sure are lovely gloves in winter, between me, gf and family we must have got 20 pairs - always warm hands.
  13. 2 pairs of these lovely gloves from clarks including shipping. Winner to make contact with yvonne at clarks to provide address and size.
  14. steve, how do i go about donating a couple of pairs of clarks tegera gloves. Is easiest way to pay for them and then get yvonne to ship them to winner?
  15. A nice big pile of worlds cheapest conifer firewood near me going for silly cheap, give me something to split for next winter for my log shed. Oh and socks
  16. Our boss gives us a couple hrs off to go out for a meal ( we pay for meal and drinks ourselves) but its a step in right direction, old boss used to make us take a half days holiday for it.
  17. One drive on our estate closed already with tree over, dont know about 2nd one. several local roads closed. Friend some miles away got 6 trees across road so he cant get to work tommorow cause council said it wont be open till after lunch. hey ho the firewood piles will get a top up. Very sad news about death.
  18. Never tried one but depending on where youre cleaning up you could try same way as i have been this week cleaning a lot of mud off roads after a large event (look up enchanted castle - crathes castle) where trucks have hit the grass verge and scraping worst off with tractor loader then doing real clean up with stihl br600 leaf blower, really makes look better fast as long as theres somewhere to blow debris.
  19. Been in the paper a few days now
  20. I have one of those and i love it - especially the longer back for keeping nice warm and dry.
  21. The tegera gloves from clarks are great, think i have 4 pairs and last winter all my family got a couple of pairs for shovelling snow, clearing car etc - everybody loved them.
  22. where i live has done a lot of forestry recently, in last 3 weeks. one clearfell area backing onto other blocks and a mile long drive had a lot of thinning done on both sides - roll on the blown trees and my firewood heap getting stocked up, plenty of silver firs to drop tops so happy days!
  23. Smashed windows is like worlds worst topic at my work, 2 rear windows, 1 windscreen and a door in last year! 3 of which been this year. none of them been me and i am the main driver of the poor lil kubota.
  24. I sold a husky 340 on ebay that had been a firewood saw for 10 years and was still going strong, work runs a husky 351 for general use (abuse) and am sure both saws be had on ebay for under 200 in nice condition, perhaps buy it and then take to a local dealer and get it given a good once over. Give many years of service hopefully.
  25. Good to see another thread on these saws, hopefully allows me to read both and then get brave to spend money.
