  2. to get back to the original question you have to pay staff weekly / monthly, employers liability insurance is required, 13% employers NI to pay on there gross wages , holiday and bank holiday sick pay. protective clothing to supply, overtime if the job runs over start and finish in the yard. plus the paper work that takes time /cost
  3. arp you will not gain experience subying as that will entail doing the job on your own you want to get in with tree surgeon to gain experience

  5. drought stress all the chestnuts i have seen are going over now a bit Early but most trees are shedding leaves and some limbs at the moment all through drought

  7. yes it will be mr squirrel
  8. i had the hedge cutter on demo last month the Eco setting is a waste of time as it reduces the cutting speed by half. it will cut for a hour then recharge for a hour, the plug would not fit into a all weather out door socket so you would need a fly lead the bigger battery is not available as yet (as far as i know) if you charge it from your truck you will need a inverter with the engine running and it will reduce the truck battery life so if you used it all day with 2 batteries your truck would need to be running all day not for me at the moment
  9. glad to see you have the battery well secured

  23. about 10 miles from me locally the wind is not blowing in my direction the latest news says they are going to let it burn its self out
  24. always cut conifers lower than the desired height to let them regrow into the middle so you are not cutting back to the original topping point. there is at least three different aphids affecting conifers and killing them off and i don't think there is a cure to the problem as yet due to the EEC baning a lot of the pesticides
  25. it will be a lot easier to grow them from seed in pots, if they have got to 18ins high they take some digging out, you can get seedlings out of the ground quite easily before they produce true leafs after that its a spade job
