  1. Tree owner should foot the bill. There was a precedent set that you are responsible for anything on your property and if if causes damage outside your property then that's your problem too. Simple way to explain: I was playing with a football in the garden and I kicked it over the fence and smashed the neighbours kitchen window. Who pays for the window? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Utilities are working on pipes under our field and they have a 22 ton machine on site. I asked him to spread my pile out a bit. Makes life a lot easier and I can find all the ready to split logs at the bottom! I want one like yours Steve. Would be mighty handy on lots of jobs! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. It probably won't be as fast as our current splitter but it would do a good job and not struggle on as many pieces. Hp will be 13hp I think. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. I think it is double ram yes. Just over £4k+vat. Not cheap but you can see where the money goes. Ours will come on a trailer and with its own engine. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Cheap leccy ones are ok but wouldn't want to work it hard all day. We bought an eBay special for 600 quid or something and its had that again in repairs. Been beefed up in plenty places and now is pretty good. Runs off the tractor spool valve. Wouldn't recommend it when it was standard but if was built like it is now it would be a worthy recommendation for a cheaper machine. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Can't wait to get it. Made to order so have to wait till feb. We are splitting our logs now so we may not have many left by the time it arrives! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Makes a big difference, chain speed is improved on bigger bars. . Especially if the carb is set right too. Makes a right good noise too! I'll get this weekend out the way and I'm very much thinking to send my 660 down to get the spud works Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Had on a spec sheet in comments section "acorn tree?" Tickled me! Also, crown thin and pollard, on one tree. The mind boggles! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Just ordered one of these for our firewood production http://youtu.be/h4PSYD3ackE Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Log sales going steady. Selling nets at a shop nearby so keeps them shifting. Fighting through the log pile currently. Had about 30 cube out since September. Not quite half way yet. Got some mechanical assistance today needed to level out the pile so I could find ones ready to split buried at the bottom. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  17. I'd be straight back there whether the landy was rebuilt or still in pieces and tell them to sort it. Bang out of order if they say they galvanise and do a crap job! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. My yards here Gary not the most local but I don't really know of many Liverpool sites myself. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Just had a new clutch and flywheel. Had been rattling for 9 months. Turns out the flywheel had shifted and turned slightly and was jammed on itself. Was still working but was fubared. Went to Aberdeen yesterday and came back today. 700 mile round trip no fuss. On checking the clock it's on 197k. We got it at 160k in 2012. Previous owner was Scania shipping parts around the country so it's lived on motorways. I reckon there's a good few years left yet. Obviously things wear out and get replaced and regular servicing does it good but it should be fine for ages. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. A positive attitude is half the battle. It can be depressing as anyone would expect. But you know how good a place Arbtalk is to feel supported and that your not alone no matter what your situation. Thoughts with you rich and stay positive Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Blummin posh suvveners! We've got a porcelain bucket outside and were considered posh round ere! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Half hour job if you clean everything as you go. Sometimes those bolts can seize in. Over torquing them makes the job a PITA next time so make sure its right. Had to take mine to Aberdeen to process a Christmas tree we sent up there. Lifted it up onto the van (13' flatbed) and chipped onto it too. No need for a trailer. Battery has died since I last used it so had to to the pull start. A very handy addition! Especially when your 350 miles from base at 6.30am on a Saturday! My blades are on the verge of needing sharpening. Pull stuff in on their own but some needs encouraging. Fuel wise costs less than a tenner to fill up and I could fill my pickup twice with that tank. Very fuel efficient. Mines paid for in march. Had it 3 years. Will be keeping hold as it fits in any corner and isn't in the way! Comes in handy now and again for tight jobs. 25. There different dealers depending where you are based. Speak to PeteB on here regarding the Greenmech and he can help you out. The cs100 takes 4" and can be fired in three directions. Has a very good chip throw. Loves straight conifer branches. Gobbles them right up. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
