  1. Being married is a lot like being arrested because everything you say WILL be used against you, but you don't get the right to remain silent
  2. Must take a long time to process firewood
  3. Makes a difference in chain speed. Especially on bigger bars. Makes it an animal on smaller ones even a 25". Got one on mine. Yes its loud and you can hear it from 150 yards away indoors but it sounds ace
  4. Could have said that it was maybe the UFO you saw before and he should make a tin foil hat.
  5. Seems I have cracked it. P. trichocarpa or P. balsamifera. Western balsam poplar or balsam poplar. Leaf says the latter although they are fairly similar species. Gotta change my records now so they are all right!
  6. I'm inclined towards Fistulina too. Difficult to determine extend of decay due to its brown heart rot habits. There's probably some nice brown oak in there though...
  7. Never drop mine so no issue to me either. I know sometimes you have to but regularly doing it can't be good for anything! Have a wire gate carabiner on my harness close to my Ds so it's easily clipped to one handed
  8. I did wear mine to the pub a couple times! I'm in zermatts and had airstreams before. I thought the airstreams were a bit too narrow for my feet. The zermatts have been super comfy if a little chunkier. May try some airstreams again.
  9. I know what you mean. It looks like an aspen or while pop going off bark. Not quite got the right form for a white pop as it's pretty straight with a couple of kinks. Not light enough bark for aspen which makes me think grey as that's a hybrid of the two. These trees have been planted. So must be something! I thought hybrid black (p. x canadensis) grew with a significant lean like the wild black? (P. Nigra var betufolia)
  10. Haven't been out to use it yet. Too much surveying! Might have to spec some climbing inspections! Will give it a go this weekend.
  11. Some more pics. I'm thinking canescens as hybrid black pop is different and with a lean generally.
  12. I'm struggling with the species on this. I thought originally aspen but can't settle on it. Second thought could be grey pop.
  13. Id rather be watching that tree through the glass of the log burner than the glass of a window.
  14. Scouting for trees today round marshlands no deposit grounds. Didnt find that many! Found tons of puddles and bits of fly tipping though Truck needs a bit of a wash now though Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. You have to do the basic health and safety test then once you have that completed you apply for the card. For tree work/landscaping you have to go through BALI for the card. Same form, different logo.
  16. Agree with bolam here. iPhones are great. Lifeproof cases are the best I've had. Had th griffin ones and others but lifeproof beats them all hands down. Very little extra size, 2m waterproof and hasn't got an annoying rubber strip on the outside that comes off and doesn't pull your pocket inside out when you pull it out. Well worth the cash IMO. You can get them for the samsung phones too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Just for reference. Now I look back I wonder why it was so big. *facepalm* Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. I agree it was big and oversized. Not my design. But it was my first box build. It did the job, stood out a bit like a sore thumb and it did me 2 years before it gave up and fell off. Pictures are in the arb trucks thread somewhere Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. That barn held a lot of chip though.
  20. Church near me just paid quarter of a million for a new roof. Charge regular rate. Deliberately overcharging sets you up for a fall IMO
  21. How did you manage to get a British truck to Australia?
  22. First impressions of it in the office it feels like it would be a lot smoother releasing under load and would allow for finer adjustment. I'll get some tree time soon and have a go and update
  23. it sure will be. I'm hugely grateful! Thanks!
