  1. Thats cool, no drama with me:thumbup1: and you can call me Jim:001_cool:
  2. Hi Mark ,forgot to say it wasn't all fun, while i was there in London i was mugged 3 times, twice by nife point and once by claw hammer, all that training and all them ninja films didn't help, when some one sticks a nife at you neck, close and up front, you just empty your pockets, i think the hammer one was the worst, and there was also the old sketch, meet a nice girl, she says wait here while i book a room? and you never see her again:thumbdown: Jubilee!, i hope they have all got loads of money cus its a s hole place to live. Iv had fun like this all around the world, was also mugged in Mississippi BY GUN POINT AND YES THERE WAS A MARK IN MY PANTS THAT NIGHT,and another time in Miami after a fight i was in , i nocked the mugger out and did not realise he had a gun, stubby i think they called it, i felt my self turn white that night, so here i am today happy to be alive, thats just a few of my 9 lives, and thats not even talking about the 2 seasons working up the trees in Aus. London? i hate the place.
  3. Try doing things in a different way, my mog has gone and instead of chipping into the back of a truck and hauling away, i'v got a TW veri track, the hopper comes off, which we can get in most places and we now chip into dumpy bags using a diffuser so the chip just drops loose into the bag which is held open by a modified fork attachment which is fitted to the chipper, i then sell the bags as an extra back to the client for a fee on top of the cost of the job, we can now achieve my 2man target day rate in approx 5hrs so i now earn about 30 to 40% more in a day . savings are in not hauling, much less dragging and fuel and in cleaning up as the closser you get to the task and process the less time is spent on a rake. We can still remove arisings from site , but 85% of the time the client likes the idear of the bag.
  4. Thats what i said Tony, Auxins, i am a man of few words but you put it very well, i must try and look out my old notes.
  5. I drank a lot of drink , and had a lot of fun:lol: and most nights we didn't even leave the show till about 10 ish, back then most pubs closed at 11 or 11.30 so we would fill up fast b4 closing then go down town to the clubs and stay till about 5 ish, back then i was well on form even had hollow legs, we would then have to get a taxi back as the underground would be shut or if you stayed out longer they would re open again, they were the good old days. £150? your tools wouldn't be very safe , in a park , in a card board box. only pulling your leg, but i'd charge £300 a day and i think that would be very fair.
  6. please all calm down, i didn't say thats how much money i was on , i just said how much i would want working today in London. i know what its like to live there, £300 a day for a good fast subcontractor sounds fair to me, but i did spend that much:thumbup: £1000 a week:thumbup1:
  7. No drugs, yes my mum thought i was on drugs, spent a lot of time down town, £1000 devide by 7 £142.85 so not far of your £120:thumbup1: for those who think you could live and work in London and enjoy your time there with out living in a box good luck, when i work away i like to enjoy my self. You only live once:thumbup: we hit the town every night for the full time we were there.
  8. Don't know, loads of money, i lived in Earls Court once for 8 weeks, rent free and still ended up spending a £1000.00 a week and that was about 1987, a few years ago, mind you i have still got some good memory's of that time in my life, what fun i had i think today , in London, its got to be £300 a day as a subi. On the books it would have to be a fair wage, how much did you think?
  9. Let it be said, never reduce Walnut, well said Tony:thumbup1:

    am i to old

f NO if you want fun in your life do it, if you are looking to get rich don't do it. its all about how you want to live your life and when you look back as a really old man not to have any regrets, if you can do that you will die a happy man.

    Mog tyres

I had continentles on mine, more of a dimond patern, on dry grass you could slide but they were very good on the road and on hot days you could even drive on a drive , even if it had been laid by Patrick ,without leaving a agi foot print, i never got stuck in the soft ground and a new full set lasted me 8 years.
  12. I'm 49, and i'll be on the heap soon, but i have been saying that for the last 10 years .
  13. Hello mate, welcome to the forum, how did you get into pornogrphy ? its a subject that has always interested me?
  14. I ran the same chipper on a u1200 (tp760) with a speed up gear box, which i put on, i think it cost around £900, for the speed up gear box that is, but i must of saved that on fuel in no time, on 540 and no stress control and it would chip all day on tick over 7" timber cord and not even slow down , i did always keep the blades sharp and set up with a perfect gap between the blades and the anvil and keep the anvil true and with a good edge, ajustment was from under the rollers, the weight was perfect for the mog even when full of chip it did not sit down, try to stay away from heavy chippers.
  15. Pinus nigra on clay you will have good cover in 5 years from small wips.
  16. Good luck mate, i remember the first few years well after leaving, it took me a long time to become normal, thats not ment to sound like that, what is normal? or maybe i went from normal to been MAD? i think you have picked the best trade to come into, working with trees is a great way of life:thumbup1:
  17. Had a jenson it was ok the belts did tend to wear out, changed to a tp and fitted a speed up gear, the mog would chip all day on tick over, gear box no belts, great bit of kit. If i was you i'd go for the tp.
  18. I sing this song that Debs is singing when i'm chipping trees too, its one that sticks in your head, I think its called 'Bertha' goes like this, "Belinda, Belinder, what a beautiful tree,,,Belinda, Belinda, what a beautiful tree,,, Belinda Belinder, 4444 that willows just got stuck in the rollers:lol:
  19. Or it could be pitch or tar thats been painted on the tree stem when it was young to stop animals from eating the bark, horses crib bite and will ring bark a tree in no time. As the tree and its stem has grown the pattern has emerged.
  20. Yes but did you like that? thats how i live my life, treat people fair, a fair days work for a fair days wage, i treat people as i would like them to treat me, i would never employ and not pay, i'v no time for those folks with short arms and long pockets:lol:
  21. Go and see him, pick him up by his feet, shake until the money you are owed drops from his pockets. that has always worked for me.
