  1. PeteB yes the angle of PTO has always been an issue with all the PRO 150 , 170 and I feel with the 270XL as well, I did check with manufacturer as visually the angle is more than I would like to run on a continuous basis, there is a problem with getting the drive to all of the stump grinders and getting depth and slew of the cutting wheel, time will tell, cheers J
  2. Hello Brushcutter, its rated to 270! so they say and I will be trying it behind the Fendt , It is impressive behind T190 with 200 ish HP even with 200 stumps done and blunt rounded off prominent teeth it performs well.
  3. Its that new I haven’t got the book yet! I would guess every 8 hours, another good thing about this one is that if stump is cut close to the ground it keeps the grindings tidy not much to rake up , this pic. 1 meter stump next to path there is a adjustable flap covering the front of the grinding wheel and this is very effective
  4. I will post our own as soon as, link here to OBM tec's vid [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NbtAMYAzsw]‪Valtra S OBMtec Pro 270XL‬‏ - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWzNjoWw4EE]‪OBM PRO 270XL Stobbenfrees, Stump Grinder, Stubbenfräse‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]
  5. After a while deliberating whether or not to we have ! some of the reasons proportional control of the hydraulics, stress control linking hydraulics to grinding wheel , 3 meter sweep, tried it on 250 stumps over last 2 days before saying yes, most of them felled bat willows approximately 1 meter plus and roots extending to full width of grinder.
  6. Made me laugh I checked the price for a smallish one in sussex last week after seeing this thread £15.00 !!!!! I would think 600mm tall and 130mm wide with a lighter stuck in the middle. Not sold many ?
  7. here's 1 from the other day
  8. Here we are pics of compacted blade holder , dented rotor where the teeth are held, hole in the screen ( hardox ) ! anvil trauma. any other of our chippers I think would have been written off, the hiezohack almost unscathed part from a bit of tidying up and 1 new blade.
  9. Brushcutter .... silly me just realised Kesla is Patu , your i.d. is correct model 655
  10. Its has been a while….. but have stripped all the blade holders down and damage seems to be limited to 1 broken blade, 1 compacted blade holder, 5 grub screws have thread stripped in the adjusting nut, some slight dents in the rotor and in the anvil hope to sort dents with angle grinder, so minor repair to holder I will replace all the grub screws and nuts and blade bolts as part of ongoing maintenance, will try to get pics of bent and dented bits, as Alex Price my hiezohack dealer said pretty god dam resilient really !!
  11. Try using afag guide as a base or as a reference and build from there or use relevant parts of it hope link is here http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/afag204.pdf
  12. Olivers , all changed when the agco / class/ renault thing happened I think their knowledge re the older valmets is good, browns similar experiance as above I think the leighton dept. is, was / has improved they look after the Parks Trust valtras here in mk , may have changed if engineer has left, daventry is reputed to have good knowledge
  13. Hello patu 6.5 meter crane , reason for splitting the tractor was lack of any hydraulics after catching stump grinder on a stump no gears no drive no nothing ! bother!! ( polite vertion) been some time so had a word with a few people and worked it back to the drive to the oil pump having sheared so therefore jake frame on the tractor has to be removed to split the tractor , replaced clutch and thrust bearing at same time as seemed a good contingency . nb. A T Olivers near to Luton ex valmet dealers v. helpful
  14. Near to Tonbridge and going south to coast try, penshurst place on via enchanted forest at groombridge, pooh bridge ( already mentioned ) across ashdown forest to Sheffield park and gardens, here if you are into steam trains the bluebell railway is adjacent and on to Kingley vale, see other post on this site, near the south coast to see the most incredible old yew wood ever! All the above have their own web sites for more info,
  15. bolt used to secure crane to tractor
  16. Some time ago I was asked re the above, we have recently removed and replaced one of our cranes to enable clutch replacement and other work to our Valmet 8000. pictures of . Jake plate on rear axel, crane demounted with Jake plate fixed, crane being positioned to remount to tractor, bolt used for securing the jake mounting crane to tractor, the only other thing on this system is to attach the spool block in the cab and to join feed and return pipe for hydraulics .

  21. A wish to be more proactive with our produce from work and to be able to offer our sawmilling services to others we had, for some time, been considering the purchase of a mobile saw mill. After having a spoken to David and Stephen on the wood-mizer stand at the Arb fair the other day the decision was made to purchase a LT40, this done and with a mill in our ownership we asked David, Used Sawmilling Machinery being our local rep, to supply us with an operator training day to include the checking over and setting up of the mill. Pictures show some of our 1st cuts:001_smile: my thanks to David for checking over and setting up of the mill and for his gentle teaching. Learn something new every day, thoroughly enjoyable I look forward to discovering what the next cut reveals
  22. I am hoping soon, and am waiting to hear back from supplier, I can arrange day to suit you, if you have preferred day please let me know , cheers J
  23. add to the above , the last time I tried to find a holder ( apart from Steve's one ) I was outbid by a dealer who was exporting them to holland, there is a demand for them and with the euro as it is ! good luck in finding a good one here
