My brother-in-law uses one, bought a kit with all the sharpening paraphernalia and really enjoys the experience, have to say it looks as if you need a bit of nerve to get started and confident with it but gives a super clean shave, I guess if you enjoy getting a good edge on axe, bill hook, saw etc. then this will be very satisfying way of shaving, yes I went the beard route some time ago! A marvellous disguise as well time saver but…… have not had one for a few years now

    Shredder?

    I have always been impressed with the eliet shredder at demonstrations link here to a supplier Eliet Shredders, Elite Shredders, Chippers, 2" Chippers, Shredder, Recycler, Professional try for a demonstration / trial 1st
  7. I have always thought that the parallel motion of the mowi type of crane to be best suited to grab feeding chippers I att. link to some tp vids showing some crane footage. Linddana A/S Linddana A/S Linddana A/S
  8. A very good and valid point better pay a higher premium and be covered for what you do than run the risk of not being covered when and if you need it

  11. My local nfu office is same unless I own a farm or a woodland , no to tractor , worst part is as a tractor you get some implements ( 3 I think ) included in the covere but as a special veh only the vehicle / tractor

  16. Non Forestry cranes I’v used have a separate divert valve for the legs, possibly to stop you from accidentally moving the leg/ s whilst operating loaded crane, there will/? be a divert lever on the supply which will lock the legs at the same time as enabling the crane to be used
  17. Can you remmember what species/age of tree for the one on the M40 ? Pipistrelle beech, the good thing was we were able to persuade supervisor of job to leave a couple of habitat trees instead of felling them , have also had 3 other sites with evidence of bats ,1 in Northampton & 2 in Milton Keynes

  19. 1 time m40 service stn. Beaconsfield Very top of tree 75 mm branch loose bark , not expected, have had jobs to look for bats with ecologists but no evidence found, except in bat boxes placed and revisited , nice find 6 bats inside cement wood fibre German type box 3 months after positioning, most finds are earwigs !

  21. latest copy of essential arb issue 35 has an article ‘The Forest City’ detailing some history of the parks trust and of their recent investment in a direct labour team of arbs They are an indipendant dedicated team with responsibility for the management and maintenance of the grid road landscape, existing woodland and linear parks within MK , I am sure if you wanted to contact the The Parks Trust with a view to a visit they would be willing to put together, or even assist with, a list of sites to visit. They are most forward thinking re. ecological, habitat creation, management of their landscape portfolio people I have come across. ( slightly biased but I do live here ) Short answer yes worth a visit do some get some info 1st lots to see

  24. Im not Scots but. Spring and Autumn best, care midges in summer, west coast all the way to the top superb scenery, some good arboretums and gardens, beautiful remote beaches and lots more
  25. we use Zarges based here in mk good have, 3 different specifications though for same size . we always have problems with catches also rubber feet can come of sideways and get lost and sods law you always bend something the first time you use it!!
