  1. But it is reasonably foreseeable that the roots would encroach on the development site itself, surely?
  2. This will go on for as long as there are 3 factors present; 1) A group of people who view theft as a preferable option to honest work. 2) A supply of kit available to steal and a ready market to move it on. 3) Insufficient deterrents in place to make living by dishonest means a viable choice. I don't pretend to know the answers but how to alter one or all of the above is definitely the question.
  3. Hope you got the sizes right or you will be in trouble.
  4. Always happy to help out fellow ArbTalkers (and myself, of course ) who need to tip decent chip(leaf in it is fine but no rubbish please) or a bit of log anywhere near the Ingatestone/Brentwood area of Essex or,with a bit of warning, near Maldon in Essex. PM me or call on 07739 556764
  5. I'm looking at options for relining at 50m x 28m pond and one of the ideas raised is a geosynthetic clay liner such as Bentomat or Bentotex. I've only had experience of natural clay liners (puddling) and Butyl so I was wondering if anybody on here had any experiences, good or bad, with this type of material. The main reasoning for considering it is that the pond is on the side of a steep slope and fed only by groundwater which means that it is subject to fluctuation in the level which would lead to a clay lining drying out and cracking, leading to leaks. As I understand it, a geosynthetic clay liner can dry out and rehydrate repeatedly with no ill effects, as well as being self-sealing in the event of being perforated. Thanks in advance for any information.
  6. Paul Smith might be able to help when he sees this.

  9. Name and number for the guvnor.
  10. With an illegally held fire arm, compounded by the fact he had publicly declared his intention to do the very thing. Rather difficult to not find premeditation in all that.
  11. 'It's me Bren gun, innit'.
  12. You forgot the 'previously enjoyed' bit.
  13. Then it didn't happen
  14. Fun casino croupier (more enjoyable than the 20 yrs I spent working as a real casino croupier).
  15. Anybody know how the law is applied in Canada? I know there is some common ground with the UK legal system but I don't know how far the comparison goes.
  16. See if it's a common fuse. Bulbs don't normally all go at the same time so fuse would be my first place to check.
  17. Seasonal site or fair?
  18. What have you got most of on the horizon? Big wood or rigging jobs?
  19. You need a hi-viz for that.
  20. She doesn't need to get her own pig(s). If she contacts her local Smallholders' Association, they will be only too keen to help her out by grazing their pigs there for the time it will take to clear the acorns IME.
  21. Weren't some dealers putting a different sprocket on before selling them to avoid this?
