  1. They hijack accounts, hence the need for contact outside of EBay.
  2. Same as my set up apart from mine has a cab, not a canopy.
  3. Can't really play the injured party when you haven't got your facts straight.
  4. If the mods see your post as being unsuitable for any number of reasons then the post can be removed. Make sure you don't 'name and shame' or mudsling as, in the event of the target getting litigious, it's Steve and his forum that will end up carrying the can.
  5. I like a bit of variety so 4 1/2lb felling axe, 6lb axe and a maul for the stuff that really needs 7 shades beating out of it. I only split for myself and family so some stuff ends up in the firepit if it's too much trouble.
  6. The boss is back on Sunday so I'll find out if he likes his willow pollards on Monday morning, mate.
  7. 'Neverbend' is true to its brand name.......they snap instead.
  8. I seem to be spending more time away from the keyboard at the moment so if anyone wants to tip on one of 'my' sites, ring me on 07739 556764.
  9. Just thought I would bump this up again. I now also have a site near Maldon which needs a lot of mulch/woodchip for a 5,000 tree memorial wood. This site is the only remaining complete WW1 Royal Flying Corps aerodrome left in existence in Europe and is in the hands of a charitable trust so you would be doing a good deed as well as getting a free tip. PM me or call on 07739 556764.
  10. Ah, that is good business practice, not consumer law.
  11. No they wouldn't. They could refuse to sell them to you.
  12. With regards to the saw, it is Contract Law 101. Quick crash course in what makes a contract coming up. You need offer, acceptance, consideration and intent to be legally bound. All 4 elements must be present for a contract to exist. You may think that the advert is an offer to sell but in law it is what is known as an invitation to treat. The offer in this case is your offer to buy the saw at the wrong price, which has not been accepted by the seller and so no contract is entered into. The case giving the precedent is Fisher and Bell (1961) IIRC.
  13. Are you sure they aren't practising for their up-coming presentation of 'The Full Monty'?
  14. It was fine. She had her brolly up.
  15. Depends if it's Chocolate Hobnobs or not.
  16. You don't need to know who does own something, only that you don't.
  17. Ask Spike for a go with his 395.
  18. Try T H Tree Services in Rayleigh. He was trying to get shot of some log wood the other day. You woud have to process it yourself obviously.
  19. Why should they have to? Do you do that with your property and if not, would you object if somebody helped themself to it?
  20. At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I have a couple of sites in Essex near Ingatestone and Maldon where I can take 'clean' chip (ie no lunch wrappers, tin cans or half a dumpy sack of rakings ) if people want to pm me. The site near to Maldon is the only WW1 aerodrome in Europe in any state of originality and they need mulch for a 5,000 tree memorial wood.
  21. Just ask yourself one question. 'Is it mine?'.
  22. Not if you didn't inhale, Tim.
  23. I'm just going by my own observations. I had one guy working part-time for us PAYE who had worked out just how much he could earn and still claim the maximum possible in hand-outs. He had no interest in working for us full-time as he was working cash in hand as well. Unfortunately, his position became full time so he left and we took on a very keen lad instead.
  24. Are the Government figures the amount that are caught or the amount that they estimate are on the fiddle?
  25. You are assuming that people don't buy cigarettes 'under the counter' and that they don't work cash in hand and claim benefits. Before you get offended, I'm not saying that everybody on benefits is cheating the system but I could introduce you to many examples that are.
