  1. When I was looking for a mini digger recently on Plant Trader, there was a snide one minutes away in Ingatestone.
  2. Used to see some good names when I worked in the casino industry. We had a Mr I Deal, a Chinese customer called Bitch and a Vietnamese lady called Superporn.
  3. You haven't pulled, you know.
  4. Myself and a couple of other Arbtalkers are involved in the Landscaping/grounds side of the only remaining WW1 aerodrome in Europe. http://www.stowmaries.com/‎
  5. Well at least you are already in the right place to look.
  6. 1 of the estate team is the experienced digger driver but I will be getting some practice in too.
  7. I was more than happy with the deal, Matt. Would have preferred my Isuzu to get it back to the main roads but the Ranger did alright. Got it back ok and finally got home just before 9pm.
  8. I made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
  9. It's similar to the argument about Aldi/Lidl cheap saws with a 3 year guarantee. Yes, in theory you can't lose as if it breaks within that 3 years then you get a new saw but what about the downtime if/when it breaks plus the stress of not being able to rely on your most important tools?
  10. I got given a brand new Mercedes ML350 as a courtesy car a couple of years ago after writing an old Maverick off as , despite me spending 5 minutes describing what I needed in a replacement 4x4 vehicle, that was what Enterprise thought was appropriate.
  11. Filthy devil.
  12. Indeed. You need to draw attention to them before any contract is entered into, ie on your quotation. Anything issued after is merely a receipt and so you won't be able to rely on it. If I remember correctly, it's covered by Lord Denning in Thornton v Shoe Lane Parking.
  13. How are you expected to know what training and PPE you should have without being trained?
  14. Sooner or later, somebody is going to do something drastic.
  15. I suspect there will be an another issue for non-payment if he does.
  16. It's the only reason I work.
  17. You don't need to change them, you need to provide a written quote and make sure you draw their attention to your t&c's. Nail the quotes down and you don't let problems get an in.
  18. Any witnesses to what you said? If you have, then go down the Small Claims route. They sound to me like they are trying it on. You should bear in mind that my opinion is, however, worth exactly what you have paid for it.
  19. Looks reasonable. Did this client have a copy of your t&c's and did you draw their attention to them?
  20. Then the mistake is their's. If they do not understand a term then it is upto them to ask. Although not strictly in the true meaning of the quote, 'ignorance is no defence in the eyes of the law'.
  21. How was your quote worded? If you stated that you would fell to ground level and remove all arisings then you are fine. If you said you would remove the tree, you could well end up a victim of your own wording. You need good, clear quotes and t&c's.
  22. Definitely clutch related.
  23. Well, you won't get it back if you keep breaking it. That nice Andy Collins doesn't break things. Why can't you be more like him? It's ok, I managed to get hold of the vendor I needed to speak to anyway.
