  1. If you are making money from it then that is great. For those like the OP who are receiving a derisory amount for the chip, plus the inconvenience of storing and loading it, and who have a suitable site offered to them, my suggestion is a viable alternative.
  2. We use it as a mulch around trees and beds around the estate. Having worked in Arb for a few years before taking on my current role, I know how invaluable it is to have a network of places to dump chip on '2 truckload days' when working away from home and so am pleased to offer a service that is mutually beneficial. We don't get tonnes and tonnes of the stuff in but we get enough to get by. We can always use more though.
  3. I initially got in touch with a company online called Brixworkwear and they then put me in tough with a lady called Cordelia Wagner at Haix in Germany. I sent them a few photos of the problem and they asked me for the serial number which is on the label inside the boot under the size. She then arranged a new pair for me.
  4. I had the sole split on mine after 18 months and Haix sorted me out a new pair with no arguments.
  5. We'll take it if you want shot of it for free, but you have to get it to us in Ingatestone, Essex.
  6. Offer is still open if you are nearby again. PM me if you need my mobile number. I've also got another site which needs a lot of chip for mulching a memorial wood in Stow Maries, near Maldon.
  7. Why have the stress of worrying about it? At these prices, by the time you factor in storage, loader + fuel and your own time to load it for them, it can't make economical sense. Just have a list of places that will happily let you tip there. We even put the kettle on for the driver when we get a delivery.
  8. Thanks for the tip.
  9. I'll give you a fiver for it.
  10. Thanks mate.
  11. That's more to do with the slow down of the Asian Tiger rather than H M Government.
  12. It has already worked to the extent that kit thefts are on the up as opposed to metal theft.
  13. Anybody know the part number for the carb adjusting tool for a Husqvarna 142 please? And the factory settings too?
  14. That's fine for us. When I say clean chip, I just mean chip that doesn't have a load of rubbish in it. Regular chipped arb waste is fine as we just use it as mulch on the estate.
  15. I can offer a free tip site if you need to get rid of clean chip anywhere near Ingatestone. I know it doesn't solve your problem now but it may help in the future.
  16. I would rather be told if my posting was considered inappropriate or unwelcome by the mods rather go on blissfully unaware spoiling the forum. I know my sense of humour is a bit 'out there' sometimes but I try to only have a laugh with people who are up for it. It should be remembered that if anybody doesn't like reading the posts of any particular individual, there is I believe an 'ignore, button.
  17. No harness but Boker Black Spear clipped to my pocket.
  18. Not in my opinion, but that's only my opinion.
  19. Breach of contract, but is it worth the hassle? Basically, you had a contract to buy, he has breached the contract so you could take him to court and, if you won, either try for a decree of specific performance (to make him sell the original truck to you, which is unlikely if he has sold it to another) or for the difference in price if you can find a near identical vehicle to buy ( ie if it costs you 5k, you would aim to get the extra 1k from him).
  20. Don't let that bother you. A surprising number of people connected with Arb and Forestry are dyslexic.
  21. When did you last have the chimney swept?
  22. Sorry, totally inappropriate I know but I can't help myself.
  23. That's the value of a good forum, Steve. I learned about these thieving gits before I even owned any kit.
  24. I know that there was no excuse for stealing them but that is rather asking for it. Even when I'm just driving somewhere in the truck, my saws and any other easily lifted kit is locked on.
  25. In that case, Withams here I come.
