  1. Did you listen to the answers to the questions you asked? No.
  2. Hi all. I'm currently looking to buy a used mini digger for general use on the estate and wondered if anybody had any tips of what to look for/avoid model-wise. I've got a shortlist so far consisting of Kubota KX36-3, Yanmar B15-3 and Takeuchi TB016. I want a model with a full cab and I have about £8k to spend.
  3. We're too busy grafting rather than playing around with gadgets.
  4. Whoever it was, I bet there was a snide copy out a week later.
  5. Aways nice to get an informed expert opinion.
  6. Thread was either Stihl v Husky or being undercut by people with no tickets.
  7. I'm hoping for bye-bye.
  8. I know mate, I just thought I'd be cooperative while I drink my afternoon cuppa.
  9. That's odd. When you posted on the thread about 'Customers moaning' on 17/12/12, you said then you had bought builder's bags full of wet willow and poplar with which you were understandably not happy? The rest of your post was of a similar nature to your 'Why oh why' thread in that you were expressing your displeasure with the way logs are sold. It's quite easy to find in your previous posts if you need reminding. People weren't getting wound-up by your lack of knowledge, rather that when they explained how things work to you, you didn't seem to want to listen as it didn't reflect your opinion. Arbtalk is generally a very friendly forum and members on the whole have a lot of patience with people who are asking questions when they are genuinely interested in the answers.
  10. "Aspen....when your groundie can't be trusted to measure out 100ml of 2 stroke oil properly"
  11. Remember everybody; Arbeit macht frei.
  12. What, you're Dolly the sheep? Don't the hooves make it difficult to type?
  13. When I used to subby, it used to bug me if the other groundies were slacking but if somebody expected me to run back from the chipper then I would be forced to tell them to ram it.
  14. Don't forget to mention working in all weathers.
  15. The most important factor in drying logs out is airflow. Make sure that whatever you end up building has plenty of air going through it and also make sure that you get a layer of pallets down before you start putting your logs in.
  16. Bit cloudy and blowy here. Hope it stays dry as off to meet the volunteers at a WW1 airfield with Arbogrunt to see if we can offer a little help with some of their restoration and ecological projects.
  17. Just the pumpy.
  18. Mick told me you were somewhere between Arthur and Martha.
  19. I had a visit from Geoff today. Does that count?
  20. Just saying.....
  21. Still wondering.
  22. Bet you that you don't get a cubic metre when you stack it though. Incidentally, was the bag you are complaining about the first builder's bag that you have bought?
  23. I think we are all going round in circles here. Splitting hairs between 'he didn't tell me how big the bag is' and ' he just said it will hold 0.7 cubic metres' still doesn't avoid the fact that the difference comes about because of the difference between loose volume and stacked volume, unless of course you are saying that he told you that he was supplying a stacked volume of 0.7 cubic metres? Finally, judging an industry by people selling on Ebay is rather flawed. Just saying....
  24. But the guy you bought from told you how big the bag was. The confusion arose because you didn't realise the difference between the amount of loose logs that bag would hold and the volume they would occupy when tidily stacked. Not really anybody's fault, just a matter of inexperience.
