  1. I used to work for somebody who used a smallish Bobcat as a harvester and I thought it was a good machine. Thanks for the offer but I'm down in Essex so it would be a bit of a trek.
  2. I don't think anybody else goes as far in 'disciplining' as you did with that particular groundie, mate.
  3. At least you don't tell them to run.
  4. There seems to be a lot of Kubotas on the market at the moment. The machine will be mainly used for landscaping tasks and ditching as I only dabble in Arb these days.
  5. Got some bits of Yew log if that's any good.
  6. Best job I've ever had.
  7. What's the stability like?
  8. Probably less gullible, more frightened what would happen if she refused to pay him. Doesn't sound like she agreed to him doing it.
  9. Good work, Spoons.
  10. Re-read the post I quoted and compare the way you speak about the 'boy' and what you expect from him with the terms you use about your more experienced staff. It reads to me as though you hate him and view him with contempt for committing the heinous crime of being young and inexperienced. Your actions remind me of the sub-bully, leaning out from behind the main man, waving his fist and backing up the threats with a 'yeah', an image reinforced by your references to whoever your friend is.
  11. Nice pics. Going to be doing similar at a couple of sites over the winter.
  12. Were you bullied at school? It seems to me that you treat the new guy like crap to make yourself feel 'big' but don't try it on with the more experienced workers because you know they wouldn't accept it.
  13. More fun to keep people guessing.
  14. Now that is something I would really have abused.
  15. Did you listen to the answers to the questions you asked? No.
  16. Hi all. I'm currently looking to buy a used mini digger for general use on the estate and wondered if anybody had any tips of what to look for/avoid model-wise. I've got a shortlist so far consisting of Kubota KX36-3, Yanmar B15-3 and Takeuchi TB016. I want a model with a full cab and I have about £8k to spend.
  17. We're too busy grafting rather than playing around with gadgets.
  18. Whoever it was, I bet there was a snide copy out a week later.
  19. Aways nice to get an informed expert opinion.
  20. Thread was either Stihl v Husky or being undercut by people with no tickets.
  21. I'm hoping for bye-bye.
  22. I know mate, I just thought I'd be cooperative while I drink my afternoon cuppa.
  23. That's odd. When you posted on the thread about 'Customers moaning' on 17/12/12, you said then you had bought builder's bags full of wet willow and poplar with which you were understandably not happy? The rest of your post was of a similar nature to your 'Why oh why' thread in that you were expressing your displeasure with the way logs are sold. It's quite easy to find in your previous posts if you need reminding. People weren't getting wound-up by your lack of knowledge, rather that when they explained how things work to you, you didn't seem to want to listen as it didn't reflect your opinion. Arbtalk is generally a very friendly forum and members on the whole have a lot of patience with people who are asking questions when they are genuinely interested in the answers.
