  1. Have a look at page 6 which features a section on contaminated wood: Wood as Fuel: Technical Supplement for Fuel Suppliers
  2. Its is only a public right of way if it is on the definitive ROW schedule & map. The local authority holds the up to date information. It could still be a 'public footpath' even if not a public right of way if access as been granted along the route via deeds or other legal means.
  3. The best present as to be the tractor and timber trailer .
  4. The root cause was someone boarding a train without a valid ticket for that journey. Everything else stems from that point. With regard to the prosecution, this is the only way the legality of what happened can be ascertained (after appeals, counter appeals, etc of course ).
  5. As far as I am aware it would be the Transport Police not the regular Police who would have attended if called. The Railway Bylaws are worth a read. Removal of persons is covered under 24(2).
  6. I too suffer and even had the injection. I found the Epi-Sport Epicondylitis Clasp worked the best for me. I just need to remember to put it on before starting hammering, etc.
  7. Trial by YouTube.... this is something I personally don't like. I think the correct thing was for the cameraman was to pass the video on to the Transport Police / train operator rather than putting it into the public domain. If my understanding of the law / regulations is correct then the passenger is responsible for ensuring that they have a valid ticket for travel prior to boarding the train. The onus is on the passenger to prove they have got a valid ticket, rather than the train operator that they haven't. With hindsight (a wonderful thing) I think that the Conductor (Revenue Protection Officer, or whatever they are currently called) should have arranged for the Transport Police to meet the train at the next station. He could have then let them on whilst keeping the rest of the train secure. I have seen this happen and it was a very slick operation.
  8. Public places (ie where the public have access) are not necessarily owned by the council. I'm not aware of specific laws regarding climbing trees (although there may be bylaws in some areas), but as already said the important bit is not to cause damage to the tree.
  9. If you are wanting to return the area to wildlife I would lose the internal fences. I'm not a great fan of tree planting and thing the ground would be better to grow wild naturally. If you have a local farmer / small holder who would be happy to graze it autumn / winter (if the ground doesn't get too wet) then this would help to reduce the nutrient level of the ground and so encourage the wildflower development in the area. I lot really depends on what your local seed bank is like.
  10. Had a look at your prices on the website today and was surprised how cheap they were: I think you may have an 'each' missing from the listed prices
  11. The wife finally received her letter and after a bit of number crunching the 'a resounding "yes"' it mentions in the letter is actually 22.67% of the membership entitled to vote (as long as my maths is correct). Personally i feel that any vote of this nature should require at least a 75% turnout to be valid. Then at least it would require a minimum 37.5% of the total membership to be in agreement for something to go through.
  12. More information can be found here. Although I could only find links to press releases about WIMS on the VOSA website.
  13. Why do you need a helmet or chainsaw trousers to drag brash?
  14. I know it stating the obvious but I have seen it done. Length x width x height will only equal m2 if the measurements are in metres
  15. My understanding is the current red is being phased out due to its high Sulpher content. The new red is white with red dye in so it contains a proportion of biodiesel. As a result the diesel will 'go off' if stored too long.
  16. I had regular jabs every 3 years, only to be told when I went back for the booster to comeback after 5 years. When I went back I was told 10 years. After 10 years I was told to go away as I had had more than enough jabs for life.
  17. Be interested in seeing your guard arrangement as looking for ideas for the works tractor.
  18. Made a few as well as used them in the past. The disadvantage of the 'rubber mat' ones is if you have to carry them any distance. Also used short lengths of fire hose on a shorter pole that were easy to carry and work well fighting the fire.
  19. One thing to remember though it that it is the internal, not external measurement that you want. If the external is euro pallet size, then the internal will be less.
  20. Takes a while to cut off all the epicormic growths too.
  21. The above is taken from the National Trust website.
  22. I always wonder if some as the company name 'Tree Butcher' with the slogan 'a cut above the rest'. After looking at many company names, the ones that catch the eye are those that tell you what they do. This may not be in the company name per se but in the additional information supplied at the same time as the company name. A lot of companies are just the names of their founders, but if you said them most people would know what they did straight away. Therefore they must have marketed themselves well to get nationally recognised.
  23. Am I being thick? But I thought that a unimog was a 4x4?
  24. I live across the water. Some parcel services such as Parcel Force and Royal Mail treat us as part of the mainland. Then again others thing we're located some where south of the Falkland Islands. So if you state 'mainland deliveries' do you actually mean 'mainland deliveries'? It makes ordering a pain.
  25. Nothing better than an official none committal answer from HSE. My translation is that you can wear the type of glove best suited for the task. But make sure you have a suitable paper trail to justify the use in the first place.
