1. I found there was no leg support in the hilux unless the seat is right back. The auto box was very good but I think we will kill that with our 16ft ifor trailer. I drove the first rodeo with auto box and found it very revvy and fussy but that was years ago I would imagine that has improved alot. A new hilux is about 20k and a 3 year old one with 60k is £16,000 so may as well have a new one.
2. I have a lidl one £20 does everything I need. I would imagine if you spend more the pawl mechanism would be better quality and made in metal. I find my plastic one gives some engineers artistic licence.
3. How is yours going we are making a choice between rodeo and Hilux
4. No point at all but they are still a ball ache to cut. We have a 5kw in the front room and powered duct to other rooms heats the entire house unless its bitter then the central heating helps out. I find 6 in logs the best as you can get 3 or four in and still get the next ones in.
5. My wife found it on spotted in Leicester, apparently comments from people who did not get the joke are as funny as the joke.
6. This was put on my windscreen while shopping today thought I better give you the heads up in case it comes to your town.
7. If you think there is any chance you will run out get it in now. It only improves with age. If it gets short supply there will be alot of fresh cut rubbish about. I always have at least 3 years supply in hand.
8. We are thinking the same at the moment. my thoughts are what you loose in the buck you gain in the cab there are alot of things you could store in the cab. getting stuff in and out of the extra cab can be a pain. having proper seats and doors means the vehicle can be used for school runs and local trips if needed ie thick snow and wifes car in the shop, taking extra men to site.
9. Looks a nice truck in silver. When you buy them new the snug top adds another £1500 to the price so worth having on a used truck.
10. Wet weather at 14 deg is ideal for growing mould things should stop next week when it goes cold. the wood looks like you dont get alot of sun on the pile. If you do cover it I would keep an eye on it as I think it may make it worse unless the sheet is raised and plenty of air can get underneath.
11. Not sure if its relevant but sold nearly twice as much kindling this year most increased their orders. Struggling to get the wood local to keep prices real. 5 different methods of making kindling on the go. Get the impression even with all the new bods there is going to be a shortage of logs this winter
12. Hi Jon Thanks for the heads up bit to far for me also in semi retirement from logs. Its a huge tree for someone will be alot of wood with good access for crane.
13. If anyone has some cheap poplar I would pay haulage. I plank it for kindling on a woodmizer. 15-20" is like christmas come early. Dont make much money from the process but hours of fun
14. would be interested in an update when you have had a few fires in it I would be interested in one. I bought a 5kw stove made in dorset for £300 inc it was priced wrong in a showroom I cant find one the same under £700 any where else. I am amazed who much heat and how little wood it burns compared with an old stove.
15. I think when you get over 40 you seen and heard it all at least twice. Also you can spot the difference between banter and two people in a team that dont get on and use it as a weapon.
16. Yes mine was a d22 I think the only thing that did not blow up was the engine. All trucks seem to have problems. A friends low mileage l200 put a conrod out the side of the engine which took the clutch and gearbox. I have heard of problems on mk6 hilux especially injectors. We have a td5 disco been great for 5 years broke down 4 times in the last two weeks all different un related faults. As been said its all down to luck and whether it was built on friday.
17. The smallest burners in the shops wont even take a 8" log. We have a 5 kw hunter and that runs best with 6" logs but will take 12" To get the most logs when you order the go for 6" or 14+. 10-12" take up the least amount of room and leave the most air space. Making small logs is a right pain in the neck creates more trash and saw dust and takes longer defo charge more.
18. We bought a new navara by the time it had 40k on the clock it was like triggers broom. Looking for another new double cab this week Nissan not even on the list. Citroen with another name now.
19.

Hi Kev could you ring reference kindling collection we dont have any numbers for you.

Regards Steve Beale

20. There is normally two sides to this story. It all goes ok till you find a school leaver who can give it back 10 times quicker and slicker than you can hand it out. You can give it out but can you take it
