  1. These neat 40x50 approx 4kg approx 16% moisture
  2. Normally you struggle with the mortgage for 7 years then as it gets easier you decide you need a bigger hutch so you increase it to the same painful level as you started. Just as you finish paying your third mortgage your body falls apart and you go in to home and they sell your house to pay for your care. I think its called the cycle of life
  3. I can remember being in my early twentys ( just ) aggressive and fired up about how the 50 somethings had everything and were slow and lazy. How they had cooked the housing market and how it was impossible to get on the ladder. I got on that ladder in 1992 and channeled my energy into getting that morgage paid off asap. Especially since the rate went up to 14% at one point. It was easier then because we did not feel we had a god given right to afford every new game console, ipad, iphone and scubby that comes out. I did 18 hour days often 7 days a week and spent 4 weeks in a war zone. Its always been the same stop moaning put your hands down your trousers find your cohonours and get on with it.
  4. The other way to look at it is customers will be happy and more likely to come back. Always made me smile when people selling 0.7 bags against my cubic metre box felt they were pulling a fast one when actually they probably dropped close to a cube anyway.
  5. Our 1.5 metre bags nearly fill our 2 cu metre truck. The more u use them the bigger they get.
  6. Never even thought of doing that. You could try tilting when empty and when full to get some sort of calibration. The other thing to do would be measure the height of the body from the ground when legally loaded and not exceed that.
  7. I have thought about putting a little wheel on the towbar to stop some of the sparks
  8. Coming out of Landrover special vehicles. I decided on a new one for 32k + vat but found there is a 6 month list for them. Also for a new one in my spec is 40k + vat. Cant feel 3.5 tonne on the back especially with 6 speed auto. Unbeliveable to drive but I expect repair bills will be horrendous hence the reason I was going to go new. Discovery vans mean I dont need a lorry or operators or a transit as well. Better to get your head round the cost before you drive it in case you love it.
  9. But at least you know the goods excist and either side can raise some simple paperwork to cover any come backs. Better than signing for an empty packet through the post.
  10. Often you will find its the contacts in the solinoid are pitted. I would imagine the price of copper now they are not as good quality or as big as they used to be. 1/2 hr job every few years. Probably better sorting your starter rather than exchanging it for a bodged one that has been to the moon and back.
  11. Well gone and done it now bought another disco van. Our d2 has been brilliant the new one is more space ship than work truck. Will see how it goes basically a Range Rover sport with bigger boot. 255 hp is nice towing 3500kg
  12. This thread wont even scratch the surface of the scams they pull on ebay. They pick up ideas off ea other on the ebay forums or their brother init
  13. wait till snows on the ground you can sell chipboard no need for meter.
  14. If vosa spot a tree surgeon thats not over weight they would think you have something more sinister to hide:biggrin:
  15. If you had a weighing system installed you would probably find that 3.5 tonne vehicles carry very little and ignor it and fill it up anyway otherwise you will never get the job done. get it weighed with a legal load and see how much space there is between the bump stops. Normally if you are on the stops its too much unless your springs are knackered
  16. I think I would get more pleasure from a chipper certainly it would earn more money and break down less.
  17. Or on this forum in a different section asking for free wood
  18. I thought the money you lads earn a range Rover sport would be straight out the back pocket
  19. Another way to explain to them is you charge £100 they claim back 40% = £60 If you were vat registered £100 less 20% = £80 less 40% = £48 so although they would be better if you were vat registered it is only by 12% if that makes sense. Chances are as a small business you will be cheaper to start with as well they cant have their cake and eat it.
  20. Could be they do take at least 500 miles to bed in. The material could be harder to stop it fading when stopping your 3.5 tonne ifor that had new brakes 6 years ago.
  21. I did not drive the dmax but they cant be that bad its supposed to tow 3.5 tonnes although the spec says with only 500kg in the truck and you need to take passengers out of that.
  22. I bought a 60 plate disco 4 van in the end. Any grief and it will be a new d Max on the drive.
  23. Keep that bit to one side when using a saw as well
  24. I never drove the d max but did drive the new Toyota. Problem is with dealers they never have the bottom of the range 18k double cab. The Toyota drove very nice but the version tested was 27k + vat. The rain pours in when you wind the window down and floods the window switches. Sounds like a bag of nails when you floor it , no leg support apart from that very nice.
  25. I am sure everyone on here has had an accident and realised their mistake afterwards. About 2 years ago I was using a jig saw with blunt blade put both hands on to apply more pressure. Put my left hand index finger between the body of the saw and the hex head bolt that jigs up and down. Unfortunately they are low geared and the gap is only 2-3mm the bolt went through my nail and smashed the end of my finger to bits. Had to sit down for a bit while the cold sweats wore off. Bugger did that hurt. Still no feelling in tip of the finger. Wife refused to take me to minor injuries until East Enders had finished.
