    Reed cutting

I thought the ground was solid, it took two landrovers with winches and best pert of a morning and then rest of the day cleaning
  2. My lads are employed I work on 2x pay to cover costs, which is more expensive than a free lancer but I have work to cover them and like that I don’t worry if they will be available to work or don’t want to go to certain jobs You will have to pay certain costs anyway insurance is cheaper if they are employed, and vehicles are expensive to insure if your labour is not direct

    Reed cutting

If they are reeds that makes for a good chance the ground is soft. It’s no fun recovering a avant when it’s dropped through a crust on soft ground, most reed cutters are on double or triple wheels or tracks.

  11. You might try air injection around the roots to remove some compaction remove as much of the fill as possible and replace with a good quality compost well rotted farmyard or horse manure make sure it’s old or it could burn the roots, maybe try some blood fish and bone or a foliage fertiliser sprayed over the leaves, others will be along tommorow with more experience than me so I would wait and see what they recommend before carrying out any remedial works
